I downloaded the 1.31 update and it said it contained a virus so the browser deleted it, should I redownload ?

Anyone can pay a third-party Certificate Authority several hundred dollars to be able to sign their own binaries (executables). Viral or not. 99% of all AVs would not flag them because they're "signed". As for "safer" patch, hernycwo is right. That isn't how patches work. If you don't trust it, don't run it. Simple. Or you could literally follow the directions I mentioned several times throughout the thread to crack it yourself. Then you could be 100% sure and never have to download anything. Then you could compare the resulting binaries and see that I haven't done anything to them. (Timestamps will be different for obvious reasons.) Oh and just because "a patch works" doesn't mean they are safe, either. Remember WildTangent? Everyone loved that viral spyware. Fun games I was told, but totally spyware and worse. HP even pre-bundled them on their PCs in the mid-2000s.

I think I'll just teach some trusted member of the forum how to do this so I don't have to face this kind of stuff. Eh.

All good. You can take the Windows Calculator and pack (compress) it with UPX, a popular packer (for reducing file size mostly) and most anti-viruses will flag it because UPX is typically also used to compress malware. UPX is an entirely legitimate packer though and quite easily unpacked. (Debugger, scroll down to last JMP, it'll be the Jump to OEP. Dumpers need to take care (depending on capabilities of dumper) to bypass the VirtualProtect call if needed.) Plenty of automatic unpackers for UPX too. Google, but be careful.

I read that Story Mode is not yet enabled. (There is none?) Unknown ETA.

The devs are holding a poll on whether they should continue with the story mode or proceed with a new project with monster sex I guess. Not sure about the results.

Did you try unchecking the "Protect you and your device from dangerous sites" box in the privacy settings and then download it again?

There's also the option to recover files that Chrome has blocked by:

1. Press Ctrl + J to open Downloads.
2. Right-click on the blocked file and choose “Recover malicious file“.

From the first OP thread, it doesn't look like it needs cracking. If you meant uncensoring things, that is possible. Unreal Engine can be configured during game cooking/compilation to use Pak files which compress all resources of a game into single Pak files. They can be unpacked, modified, even repacked. One would have to unpack the Pak files, find any logic Blueprint (if using Blueprint Scripting) or C++ routine and change this. I'm sure it'd be a simple routine. (Unless Encryption has been added. Then you'd have to dump the key from the UE-Game binary and then decrypt them with specified key.) There are a few other ways. *I've already unpacked it and I can turn on/off censorship. I just can't recall how to repack assets in a way to be re-used. I don't usually work on Pak CHUNK files. MGDF_GameModeBase.uasset would need patching.

Yeah I easily get off topic. That launcher uses server-side validation to retrieve a different set of files instead, it looks. Anyway, back on topic.

Or yet better BupoTiling03 can you make an complete guide (just combine the things you wrote already) for mods to add to the original post?
Different people asked the same question several times.
This could be easier both for them and bupo.
