Are you a bit nervous today? I just said what I'm thinking about all this story. And anyway, I know ICSTOR is much worse than Enyo, it was just a "joke" to underline a point, and the point is that I understand some delays, unexpected events happen, but how can you give people a deadline if you need another 3 months (or QUITE 3 months) of work? Imho it's not an unexpected event
You obviously didn't take my advice and read back a few pages, did you? Or you would have seen how hard I was on Enyo for missing the dates, or the actual constructive criticism & suggestions I've made instead of just negatively blabbing about and comparing him to the worst of the milkers while adding zero value to the discussion.

But that's ok, you do you. I'm done with this.

OK, forget what I said about ICSTOR, I didn't mean that Enyo is a milker. What i don't understand is how can you think (and tell people) the update will be ready on Feb 15 when, in the light of things, after another 3 months of work it's not ready yet. I truly don't understand it. Maybe he really really really underestimates the amount of work

Dudes don't compare him to ICSTOR who haven't done shit in 2 years and don't tell me he did update 1 year ago because it was halfed-assed after 1 year of delays

18/01/2021 0.35 is released
22/01/2021 next update is said to be released in 3 weeks(12/02/2021)
12/02/2021 deadline is delayed. New deadline is 27/02/2021
28/02/2021 deadline is delayed. New deadline is 09/03/2021
11/03/2021 deadline is extended for 15 days(26/03/2021)
26/03/2021 Enyo said " The update is basically ready and I'm just putting the finishing touches" and he added that he hopes to finish the update by the end of this month.
01/04/2021 Translation issue I A New Deadline
21/04/2021 Translation issue II the Deadline Strikes Back. Enyo said "I'll finish the update by the end of this month for sure."
01/05/2021 Translation issue III Return of the Apology. Enyo said "So all I can say is that the update will be soon(No. Really soon. Not like the other time "soon.")" and he said he won't give any exact deadlines until he has redeemed himself. I ask this. Anyone expecting the release this week? I'm not saying the update won't come out this week I'm just saying that noone can tell me with absolute certainty that the update will come out any time "soon".

Now, for my point, I don't think its about patiance, disappointment, blue balls, redemption or challanges of making a game and/or setting a achievable deadline. It's about reliability. A well-known "mother"saying perfectly states the feeling that I believe this fandom experiences. I'm not mad, just disappointed. I don't think the solution is extending the deadline 10 times per update with a brand new apology or deciding not to give any deadlines. Actually, I don't think there is a solution that fixes his believability within a short period of time with the situation he brought himself to. For clarification, I don't care that I have to wait a lot of time for this game, I believe this game is a god-tier game and almost every update is worth the wait. My only problem is he keeps expecting a different result with going with the same strategy over and over.(If I recall correctly, he deciding not to give a deadline second time in this game.)

You're right. And I'm super mad at myself for bringing this situation to this level. Every time I set deadline I really 100% sure that I CAN DO THIS! And then when the deadline is just around the corner I feel like it's just a bit and everything will be finished so I deside to delay again... and again... and it's really stupid. I think from the next update I will use the strategy to release what I did no matter what. Then I will get used to release updates consistently. And slowly will improve amount of events per update. If the first time it will be only one event so be it.
Second strategy is not say any deadlines at all. I consider this too, but I really don't think that this strategy helps me to release updates faster.

Yes, I said no more delays and I stopped saying any dates of releases. Now I got them back, so delays are back too :) But actually, I'm very sorry. It's an old problem of mine and I need to fix that. . -_-
Yeah, the life is a circus.

But I'm really trying to create the update as fast as possible every time. Still, than deadline are coming, everything goes to the shithole direction. So right now i'm experimenting with my workflow, planning and other stuff. But it somehow doesn't work :HideThePain:
YES, you right, I will be working harder on this!
Yep, I agree. My planning absolutely suck, but I'll do my best this time and will try not to miss the deadline! :HideThePain:
Yes, it's absolutely reasonable. But actually, I always think that if I'd be super-duper-amazingly hard working then I'd be able to release the update on time. But then the dealine is coming to an end I'm like: "Fuck, I forgot to do this and that, so I had to delay once again."

"I'd prefer if you didn't promise anything in terms of when a release was going to occur. Instead, just tease new content (by showing some renders early) and give us some updates on your progress without actually saying when it will be released."

You're absolutely right about this too. Maybe I really should do it like this. It would be a good thing to do. But for me is far more important to release the game as fast as possible than not to make a delay, so I'll continue to make super short deadlines and bust my ass, trying not to fuck them up. Yes, it's not fair to the people, but it helps me to work faster and improve myself. The more fucked up deadlines I give myself, the faster the game releases. :) Before, long time ago, I was doing one picture a day. Now I made 600+ for the 2 months, so I think I'm moving in the right direction.
Hi! Thank you for your kind words and advice. :)I'm also constantly thinking about doing this, but it gives me a wrong feeling that I have more days than I actually have. So, for example, if I would tell that the update will be "in the February", and not on "15 February", then the update would be released in the last days of the February at best (but usually in the next month or in the next 2 months... :HideThePain: ).

For me it is far more important to release the update earlier than not to fuck up the release date that I set. And I think it is more important for players too. That's why I choose not to give myself "breathing space".
P.S. I know that this strategy is really bad,and I understand that it is not right towards people who is waiting for the game. But for now this strategy is working for me and helping me to improve my consistency.

Hi! 3 days left before the end of the deadline. And... I didn't have time to finish the update. Yep, again, I know. :( Thankfully, I'm telling you this not on the last day. Yay I know I hoped to bring some more exciting news in the previous post, but this is what we have.
Here is the quick update on the progress of development:
1) All new events are almost written (on 80%).
2) I didn't send anything to translate yet.
3) I didn't finish writing events, thus didn't finish all pictures. I made about 40% of them, render about 5%.
So what's left to do?
-Finish all pictures and render everything.
-Translate and edit everything.
-Code everything.
I didn't slack off this time. It's just miscalculation!New events turned out hu-uge, and they are really awesome. So I'm just enjoying them and stopped hurrying with them at all, trying to bring the best quality!
So I think I'll be able to release the game only by the end of this month and it will be around 27 February.
Yep, that's not very exciting news, I know, but for now you can leave angry comments or give your encouragement. Everything is allowed.
Thank you! Yep... More frequent updates would be awesome. :HideThePain:
Actually, there is gallery mod made my by JohnDupont.

Hi, guys! The update is not ready yet. (Yep, that's one more naughty thing in my Santa's list.) I just started to send events to a translator. The reason is simple (no it's not because I'm a lazy fucker): unexpectedly huge event between K&A, took me the whole 7 days to finish(More than 40 pages of text) 0_0
Basically I was working on this event all the time, I started to work on the rest of the events only now. They're written though, but I still need to polish and translate them. In the perfect circumstances, if translators will be working fast, I'll be able to finish the update in 10 days. So the next approximate date of the update is 9 March. -___-
P.S. Sorry that I was silent last days, I'll answer on all of your questions tomorrow.
Hi, thank you for your feedback. You're right, I should rethink the process of creating dates for deadlines. I understand that delays are extremely frustrating, and that the person who keeps delaying deadlines seems like a mad man or just lazy and that is not great for the reputation of any developer. But let me explain why I'm doing what I'm doing.

My goal is to release updates every 2 weeks (10 events). And realistic deadlines are not helping me with achieving this goal, they don't motivate me to work more passionately and search for ways to improve my workflow. Realistic deadlines make me too relaxed. Again, I understand that this is not fair towards everybody who is waiting, and delays are extremely frustrating, I'm totally aware of it. But for me, and I believe, ultimately for players, is far more important how fast the update will be released at the end.

I also thought about this. Initially, I have a plan that if I'm not ready to release full update in 3 weeks then I stop doing what I'm doing at the moment and just release what I already had time to do. But every time when 3 weeks are past I see that I need just a bit more and I can finish a couple more events. So I take another week or so. Then I finish it, I realize that I was doing the update 1,5 month and I just have 3 events ready and I understand that now it too small for such amount of time spent and I don't have guts to release it. That's why I'm thinking: "I already delayed the update, so I can delay the update on another week or so but try to create more content." And this vicious cycle keeps going... :HideThePain:
Yep. I agree with you on 100%. I can't add anything to this. :mad:Deadlines always was my problem and I need to fix that.
I need to work harder.
I also need to stick to the shedule no matter what. If for example I planned to release the update in 20 days, I need to release it in 20 days. No matter how ready is the update and how much events I have finished to that time(even if it's just one event). It will help me to learn to stick to the schedule and then step by step I'll be improving effiency and will be releasing more events for the same amount of time.
I agree with you. It's a really shitty move to let people down every time. But deadlines helps me to work faster, that's why I'm doing them. Simple as that. I'm just afraid that if I stop doing deadlines at all, I'll start delaying updates even more.
Still, the sitiation that I put all the players now is really bad. In future, I'll be more careful with dates for the release.
Yeah, my deadlines became a joke now. :D  It's sad, but I'll fix it.

Hey, guys. Straight to the facts. I didn't have time to finish the update. -_- Some of you asked me to stop giving deadlines, and at this point it is more than reasonable, so I stop giving them.(For now UNTIL I'll REDEEM MYSELF AND BE MORE CONSISTENT WITH UPDATES) So all I can say is that the update will be soon(No. Really soon. Not like the other time "soon.")

Now information for those who want to know why: Unfortunately my main translator finished only part of the job I hoped he would do. He sent me a text only today… and it's only a half. So the rest I'll have to translate with other translators. But I dealt with the translator's problem, rest assured. I already found a few and sent them final texts.

P.S. Don't worry, while I'm waiting for translation, I'm not slacking off. I am already working on the new update. I wrote 3 new events with Tiffany and one new event with Lucy. Of course, I won't be able to finish them in this update, but still, I'm glad that I'm finally working on the new stuff! Just keep you informed, guys.
Thank you for your feedback.

well there is only one way to silence the doubters, release what you have when you say you will or dont give a deadline and release when your ready.i played your game early on and loved it but as a long time supporter of saddog i now look for devs who regularly update(at least your talking unlike saddog) before i consider support.i hope that with regular updates your support will grow and false hero becomes the master piece it deserves so best wishes going forward :) (y)

What language is this game even being translated from? Mayan? Ancient Sumerian? Sanskrit? Parseltongue? Is that why it's taking so long? Is it because the dev has to find an emeritus professor or a wizard to do it?
russia.

Based on what Enyo said about his difficulties with finding a "quality" translator, I am guessing he wants someone who will do more than just Russian (or whatever his main language is) -> English. Reading between the lines here, but maybe it is about giving the dialogue a certain feel and depth. If the translator is an avid F95 member, that would certainly help with achieving the standard he is looking for. ;)
Yeah, I got no problem editorializing it. It's actually easier and more fun that way.

He's probably French. I remember long time ago, i saw on discord, someone was saying that Enyo uses english in a way typical for French people.
