at least hope some can made a spin of maybe ....

Which right? Unless he has a written document with international validity, he cannot claim any rights. Because, as far as I know, there is no institution such as the International Adult Games Supreme Committee that can provide such a document
Someone comes up with the name of the game "fake hero" and continues it. He can play the new versions in Enyo, maybe become a patreon

if the game is not abandoned according to the comment above then it will be a quick 10 mins update or many be a update that is good many devs do this do like a ten min update so am guess is quick if no updae a all

No he doesn't but even if we want to pretend that any Renpy/Daz porn dev does it's literally not enforceable outside of *maybe* Patreon taking it down upon request. This idea that a developer can buy (or steal) pre-made assets and own their likeness is just not viable or realistic. Even if it was, again, find me a way to stop someone using them and a court to hear the case.
Moreover, who are they going to file an injunction, lawsuit or cease and desist against? Do they file it against "BonerMan69420" on F95ZONE? No, lol. Are they gonna subpoena F95 to release the info on the user that they don't have anyway? Good luck getting anything enforced on some dude behind a VPN in China or Russia, lol.
I said it a long time aho with the AWAM dev. Steal their shit and make it yourself. The issue there is the characters aren't just straight-up assets but slightly modified ones so getting a perfect copy of them is tough. Here? Most are just the assets you can get off Daz or any asset bootlegging site. Very little to no modifications I've seen.
Anyone or any group with the want-to can take any renpy game, unpack it, grab Daz, grab the assets, grab Renpy and take it over. Afraid Patreon will take it down? Don't use Patreon. Problem solved. This "they own the copyright" shit just isn't true or enforceable.
The ultimate truth is that most don't even wanna take it over because it involves work and 99.9% of people here are just here to jack off, not learn DAZ3D, Python, Renpy and other shit.
The character and story of Tiffany and her mom here was good, IMO. A shame if it were to end and only then would I advise people to do as I wrote above this reply (just take it over).
As for why devs do it, the sad reality is that they jack off like everyone else here and many are made just to satisfy themselves in the beginning. A hot idea they wanna make...but then you work on it for hours and hours so you start to resent the very characters you created. It stops being fun or turning themselves on so they become disinterested.
Others learn that money will come in regardless of whether they work so they don't work. Most people would do this given a choice. It actually takes integrity to keep making something when you'd get paid regardless and it's why so few stop working once money gets involved...and also why people need to support those that keep grinding when it would be easy not to.
First, not all works are copyrighted just by doing them. That's a major misconception. If they have receipt of assets purchase? Maybe they have some legal ground there through Daz but I would still doubt it.
But that does not matter. At all. Again, enforce your copyright where and against who? Find me a lawyer and court that will take the case of "False Hero developer vs PornLover69 on F95ZONE". Please. Please tell me how a person in *wherever this dev is from" can bring about a C&D against a dude in China or Russia or anywhere behind a VPN.
Even then, if it could be done (it can't)...just don't post it there, be it Patreon or F95 or wherever. Plenty of places DNGAF about copyright law on the internet.
Finally, worst comes to worst you just pay $20 a month to host a website through the dozen hosting companies that DNGAF about copyright law and have the links there.
For fucks sake, man, you can bootleg Sony/Nintendo/Microsoft games all over the internet with ease. Name a game and I can grab it off a dozen .com websites right now...so imagine how easy it is to do it for a bullshit Renpy porn game, lol.
Still, it's not fully Copyrighted. You can say it is but it isn't. A game like AWAM for instance uses ACTUAL copyright of major brands in their work (GTAV, PINK FLOYD, ETC). Nobkdy cares about a renpy porn game.

Dude, DISNEY has actual copyright. They filed for it and won copyright. Read the word. It's a RIGHT. You apply for it and it is awarded or not.
Further, and again, actually read what I'm saying here:
Star Wars is owned by Lucas Film...which is owned by DISNEY. Disney is one of the largest corporations on the planet. They have the copyRIGHT and money/power to enforce it.
A fucking Renpy porn dev does now have ANY of those things. None. Even if this dev gained Copyright...they can't enforce it. They're just some dude whacking off most of the day making a visual novel using OPEN SOURCE software (Renpy) and pay to "own" assets (if we even assume they paid for them).
So, again, enforce the copyright they don't have how?!
Edit: Let me reiterate that I only condone anyone taking it over if the dev did abandon it and they claim they didn't so I'm not condoning that. I don't know the dev's life. Maybe they don't have the time to work much on it but it's not a case of milking at heart? I dunno but side with not assuming the worst until a dev proves the worst is true.
I only advocate taking a project over if the dev abandons the work or are so negligent and morally awful themsleves that it's morally justified on another's end (JOHN, AWAM, MILFY CITY, BIG BROTHER, etc).

dude, comparisons are very wrong and unnecessary. I registered to f95 in 2017. In the early years, lies were spread that people who downloaded games containing loli and shota content and the developers of those games were arrested when the FBI raided their homes. Nothing like this happened even once. As can be seen, games of this and similar types continue to be developed and downloaded.
It's similar to the copyright issue you mentioned. How to get copyright, where to get it, how this right is created, what to do if anyone breaks it, etc. I guess you don't have any knowledge on the subject, it doesn't have to be.
Also, you gave big budget productions as an example, it's a wrong comparison, but you are wrong again, there are similar games, the first thing that comes to my mind is Game of Whores.

IIRC "Something Unlimited" was originally named "Injustice Unlimited" directly after the copyrighted work it was based on, which actually got attention from the copyright holder, and they literally changed nothing except the name of the game and they were fine.

1 dev had to change twil to alien with hair instead tentacles.
