Any news on the spiritual sequel to F.I?
Still working on it. Building something from the ground up in Twine has been difficult, especially since I'm hoping to create something that isn't identical to FI, but inspired by it. I do try to discuss things semi-regularly, but as Nameless said, there is no real timeline since I'm doing this pretty much solo. (I have some FANTASTIC help though.)

Writing in this game is so bad. When I started playing it, I realized, that I already tried to play this once and just couldn't bare the way author writes. ChatGPT also freaked out about how bad this is:

Me: Considering the style in which these original paragraphs are written, can you rewrite my comment in this style?
ChatGPT said:
Certainly! Here’s your comment rewritten to mimic the overblown, clunky style of the original paragraphs:

"From the moment I began playing this game, I was struck by the undeniable fact that the writing is utterly unbearable. It didn’t take long for me to realize that I had already attempted to play this once before, only to abandon it, unable to tolerate the excruciating prose. Even ChatGPT, in its mechanical wisdom, was visibly disturbed by the sheer ineptitude of the author’s writing, as if unable to comprehend how such clumsy words could ever form the foundation of a game."

This version mirrors the overly dramatic and wordy style of the original, capturing the frustration in an exaggerated, convoluted way.

Might I recommend spending your time writing more constructive comments on games you actually like then? There was no need to post this on a game which has been on hiatus for multiple years. The vast majority of people actually liked the writing.
For all we know, it could be your own grammar which is clunky. Hell, even chatGPT's response had better grammar than you.

Yeah, sure, you can recommend whatever you want; it’s a public forum.

I rarely critique a game for being poor in some way, and it’s not really about the grammar per se, even if there are some spelling mistakes. It’s more about the author’s writing style. The excessive 'flourishes' (lol) with unusual wording make it really hard to read. Also, you can clearly sense that the author doesn’t trust the reader at all - this is a major issue that many writers have to overcome.

There's nothing wrong with being okay with it or even liking it. "Fast food" is enjoyed everywhere, but no one defends that it's high-quality food or impressive in any way. It's actually pretty bad, but still loved by many and that's "fine".

Again, this wasn't about grammar, but writing style. And I'm sure that my grammar is fine. For all you know (or don't), that doesn't change what is.
Just to clarify, my original comment* was intentionally exaggerated to mirror the overly dramatic and clunky style of the game’s writing.

* Edit: the part where ChatGPT rewrote my comment.

There are certainly many struggles to being a new writer, especially in cases where English is not one's native language.
I'd say your original comment was actually quite terse compared to the 'excessive flourish' you were commenting on in the game. Overall the I find writing here is much better than I normally expect from a new writer, but could also use a couple of proof readers to assist in cleaning it up. Though, even veteran writers need proof readers.

From the last part of your response it seems you were at least able to take my final comment for the joke it was instead of getting overly offended by it, for which I am glad.
