To my mind it is impossible to play a Monica with common sense. If she had any to begin with, she would never have come to Mommy's attention and not been targeted by Marcus for the farm.

Some pirate has to pay first to share it with others. Or in some cases there are collective buys. When no one wants to do it, an update is never shared. It is as simple as that.

If the DM is wise enough, he will do just that. Will tally up all the decent decisions and at the end of the game we will see how they all affected one of the ending of the game. And of course, the flowers you mentioned are also important. After all, Melanie and her ass have a long and dense relationship with red roses.
