Lemme give you a pro tip with MEGA:

  1. First download and install Winscribe VPN
  2. Import files to your account
  3. Start downloading your content
  4. After 2 GB, change location
  5. Repeat 4
  6. And you are good to go!
Note: You have to download from MEGA's app.

The first point is irrelevant if the user has a standart dynamic grey IP ( (this type of IP most users have). If you have an external "white IP", then yes, my condolences. Install something like Open VPN and hope for the best.

The 4th point is not quite true if the user has a standard free account on the Mega cloud (50GB of free storage). In that case, the limit of downloads per one session (without a monthly subscription) would be around 4GB. No locations need to be changed. (if you have gray dynamic IP)

5 point (if you have a standard dynamic IP) - turn off the connection to the Internet (turn off the wired router through the built-in menu or physically on the button), or (if you are using mobile Internet) turn on "flight mode" in your smartphone, which is your access point Wi-fi. When wait 5-10 minutes, then reconnect to the internet and continue downloading the file via the MEGASync app. (or without it, as you prefer.)

In total, 1 file of about 5GB will take you 2 tries with 10 minutes intervals.

I use Windscibe because it gives you 10 GB quote mothly but you can make it unlimited with 1$ (gives you one county - multiple locations)

Until today, I have downloaded 11 GB files at most. If you you're going to use MEGA occasionally, this should be enough.

If you will use use it frequently, you should then pay up and buy a MEGA plan.

Stan is right in his/her last point, you can switch your router off and on to have a new IP, and this should work. Doing it with VPN will not take as much time, though.

I'm right on all counts, but this scheme is relevant for those users who are provided with a grey dynamic (changing from session to session) IP address by their ISP. I've been downloading files of all sizes from the MEGA for years using the scheme described above. (Free Mega account 50Gb + MEGASync app. + grey dynamic IP). At least in my country it works.

One more thing (may be it is not necessary and everything will be fine, but I will tell this) When your MEGASync application says that you exceeded the daily quota of 4gb and an interface window appears with "tariff plans", close this window and click on Pause in the "Manage downloads" section, where your file is being downloaded. And after 5-10 minutes pass and your IP changes, press "Resume download" (disabling Pause) in the app. Downloading will resume. I use MEGASync ver 4.4.0 and as a matter of principle do not update it. Who knows what the insidious programmers of this company are capable of ).

p.s. At my other place of residence, this easy scheme doesn't work any more, as it only uses an external (permanent) "white" IP address and I have to bypass MEGA restrictions by installing a VPN (similar to the one you wrote about in your post).

That's the whole point, I think. After all it is a corruption game, or a moral degeneration one, to be precise.
I mean, Monica form Ep.1 would believe what Monica from Ep.3 is doing without much of a second thought. And I think it is just the start, the best stuff is ahead. At least I hope so.
