Crush claims that 1-13 takes place in Bangkok. Seeing will be believing.
He also claimed 1.9 would be Bangkok ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Wow, lots to reply to! Thanks everybody for being interested in the game – I really appreciate it, and I take all the feedback seriously.

After 1.5, I'd really like to polish up these (and other) storyboards and incorporate them into the game. This would (a) add a bunch of new sexy scenes (b) make each playthrough different during the university section and (c) demonstrate my vision for the future of the game: an open world experience, that has a carefully written main quest but which also supports content written by others (i.e. side quests written by fans or hired writers).

So, my vision for the next steps are:
  1. Release 1.5
  2. 1.6: player-submitted Kink Vignettes
  3. 1.7: random NPCs upgrade
  4. 1.8: Sex Engine upgrade
  5. 1.9: Bangkok
It is possible to to skip (2). I don't want to do that, but I'll put it out to a Patreon vote after the 1.5 release and obey the results.

Wow. Nearly 4 years of development, at least 12 updates from what I can tell, and about 30 minutes of linear content... The content that is has is great, but it doesn't even leave the intro location. A 4-year-old game about a spy on a mission in Bangkok doesn't even feature Bangkok yet...

The amount of content in the game has gone backwards over the last year so not even surprising at this point.

The worst part is that the "30 minutes of linear content" that is v1.12 isn't even new writing. The Dubai mission is basically just an incomplete transfer from the 1.6 or some such version of the game. So the game has that going for it I guess.

This game somehow keeps losing content. Would have been better to just jettison the idea of the other 4 intelligence agencies for now (it's pointless flavor really with limited payoff, and the amount of writing it would take to form redundant/siilar backstories isn't worth the payoff) and done a transition from college to recruitment, to starting where the first game started. Seems like this project keeps fragmenting when he realizes he's creating too many loose ends and paths and not getting any forward progress.

Like $6000 a month, probably a little less, but either way, it's definitely enough money for it to be considered a full time job, yet the update patterns feel like they spend like 10 hours a week. Everything feels pretty scammy, look at the Lifeplay dev, he gets out huge updates each month, and he's making less. Sure you can't really compare the two, but this game seriously looks like it hasn't changed a bit in the last two years.

The problem is that Crush keeps changing the interface, so he doesn't have time to update existing content into the new format before he changes the format again. If I understand his posts correctly, he is going to wait to update the older life story stuff until the story in Bangkok is at least begun.

I don't think that changing the MC's job from stripper to topless bartender serves the story very well, though i understand why he wants to build up to the more extreme porn.

I checked out the newest version shared here.

Contentise I think it would be wise to accept that the game as a whole had been totally revamped. We should start counting development time from the most recent big change and forget about what had been there before. This may be frustrating, but to me it feels much more frustrating to take the content we have at the moment as the result of four years of development. This is just a suggestion how to get a more optimistic view on the future of this promising, yet deeply disappointing game so far.

Changing the job from stripper to topless bartender seems a good idea, because it gives room for choices and development of story and main character. Simply put - if she starts out as a stripper from the start there is little space for next steps (private dances, prostitution - and what more?). In later development stages - if e.g. the complex and longwinded character creation returns - somewhere around 2024, there could be CHOICES depending on the character you created. If you created an sexually open character your agent might start out with more choices whether to start out bartending completely nude or even occasional prostitution or whatever. Something that would make sense looking back on the content we saw in the character creation way back would be that the female agent can gain trust and money buy completing more or less risky dares depending on her openness or exhibitionism stat. Or let's say gain trust and money by taking part in fetish parties depending on her submissiveness or interest in rough sex. Or e.g. gain trust and money by working as an escort depending on her interest in older men. From day 1 of the development of this game I am waiting for the choices to matter in the game. Tere is still no sign for that to happen.

About the new content I must say that for the moment being the game seems alsmost 100 percent linear without any real choice, which does not make it a game at all. It is more a quite boring novel with a complicated way of tellig a pretty mundane story not really worth telling or reading so far. At the moment the story is superflat without any moment of surprise, it could have been invented by a 15 year old.

If the writing does not improve, the game will never get anywhere.

But I still have got some hopüe for the game. Tere are some hints for nice story ideas. I liked the idea from the quest where our agent gets caught with the mobile telephone of the guy and pretends to be willing to leave a sexy selfie and its consequences. I liked the basic idea of a wet t-shirt contest leading to the opportunity to get into a porn shooting. It was played out pretty bad and boring (flat storyline with no surprises at all), but the basic idea is promising. Another big flaw of this idea was that the jump from taking part in a wet t-shirt contest, wining it and agreeing to do porn was not convincing at all.

The basic idea of flirting in the club was nice, it just was badly delivered and utterly pointless because it was so repetetive and in the end you had to take a guy home anyway - there where no interesting steps between the two stages. Very boring, but then again IF the dev fleshed the existing content out a lot the scenes could become quite interesting. Our agent could run into guys or girls trying to get her tits out right there in plain view of everyone or while dancing. Or they want to have sex in the bathroom right away. Or in some less lit corner of the club. And so on.

Good things still can happen with the game. Only question only time can tell - will the development speed tun at least to normal?

Of course there are four years of experience to doubt that.

The current development speed is normal...for this project/team.
Anyone thinking "Yeah they're just ironing out some issues, we're going to get one fully featured scene a week!" is fooling themselves.

I agree that, from a game standpoint, changing the job allows a more gradual descent into depravity, but we need to remember that the whole reason for doing this is that Devilfish can only be positively ID'ed when he is naked (he is missing one testicle). A topless bartender isn't in a position to see him naked, and our agent can't count on him not showing until she is ready to prostitute herself; he could walk in the door the day she starts work. So what works from a game standpoint doesn't from a story standpoint.

Easy narrative change there, say we need eyes and ears in the club both to help ID, and help neutralise bodyguards and help our team enter (open fire escape). Unbeknown to the agent, but known to JTF is that the target goes to the club to do the dirty with Western promotions girls.

Still the key is the next major update, forwards into new territory or not.

Devilfish likes to fuck the new girls. Boom! Story problem solved. Have Devilfish be coded to appear on random days so the longer it takes for the PC to start whoring, the less likely they are to encounter him. Boom! Meaningful gameplay choices as staying chaste directly jeopardizes the mission.

Holy shit! He publicly admitted that the "update" was "an experiment"?

I have NEVER heard of a "game developer" openly admitting that the "update" they are releasing is actually just "an experiment" before. That is basically admitting that once you get additional content involved, you can easily pull the "update" out of the product and then turn around and claim "it was only an experiment all along". Or, simply yank out portions, blow it all off as an 'experiment", and then at any moment place it BACK into the game under "NEW content" and claim the "experiment worked".

My god, this is openly admitting to not even WANT to work on the project, simply teasing adding/subtracting content at a WHIM and always being able to point back to this post as "justification" all along.
