I think people who often make games in the femdom genera often focus too heavily on coercion and humiliation/abuse, because there people who enjoy it are either into the humiliation, or just so starved to see what they like they will put up with what they hate just to see something they are into. Frankly, I think it's also easier to write a porn game story around a loser MC with doms that are all one dimensional rather than complex people. I realise it's porn we're talking about, but anticipation is an important part of good smut. Also characters you really like/ seem to like the MC/ want the best for each other.

Lets take my hypothetical again, and do a quick off the top of my head excercise in fleshing out a good dom character. The foot girl is one of the first character's the MC meets and is a dancer. She likes that you like her feet/legs and encourages your worship of her feet, but always from a position of her being in charge (maybe even a chastity type route). Lets say the dommy mommy is a milf character, but their husband left her after her child died. She sees her relationship with you as a way to process her loss, be in control, and dote on someone again. Someone who will make you cookies and sit on your face. Petplay girl likes the loyalty of animals, but has never really gotten over the death of her first pet. She thinks you are kinda cute, and thinks you'd make a real nice goodboy. Sissy/femboy lover is a sort of gentle feminine play route, with someone who is pansexual, and you usually wouldn't be her kind "physically"(she likes your personality in a romantic way), but with a little work she could be a big fan. Just with this loose outline there are ways the characters can interact and play off each other. These are not planned out ideas or anything, just a general hypothetical.

And there are femdom games with a lot of femdom scenes without any actual penetration and with clothed women: Fetish Stories, Femdom City, The Prison 1-2, Mistresses of the Forest, Second Class and more. Most of the scenes in this games are like that and fully naked woman appears rarely or not at all, most of the scenes is focused on beating, whipping, humiliating, foot worship, pegging, ballbusting, etc.

Well let's say I would prefer a femdom game where the male MC wouldn't orgasm at all and have no intercourse. In short just have him in a chastity cage. No. Generally the characters in a game like that seem (to me) to be unpleasant and unlikable. One sided chastity and punishment seems lie something you'd have to be a masochist to enjoy.

Expectation and tension can play a large part in the excitement of a femdom game so I definitely don't believe hardcore sex is essential.

Like Trapitalism I would be concerned that the scenario might progress to something quite callous and brutal.
On the other hand there is nothing to stop scenarios which involve lots of overt sex from becoming equally callous and brutal.
I guess, for me, it all depends on the personal relationship between the dominatrices and the submissive which I prefer to maintain some level of care or playfulness (is that too mawkish ?).

In short a lack of overt sex would not be an issue which would make me shun a femdom game.

Been some time since I visited this thread last, so here's a few extra recommendations:

1. Mistress vs Slave - https://f95zone.to/threads/mistress-vs-slave-v0-7-noxurtica.62362/

A lesdom game where you play as the domme. You are the princess of a a fantasy kingdom who aspires to become queen regnant upon the death of her father and has to plot and scheme against rival claimants such as your cousin, gather allies in ccourt and balance support from the military/public, the king and the two main political parties of the realm. And you also get a war-captured elven princess as your own personal slave that you train and can use to achieve those political goals, to pleasure yourself, or both. The story is well written so far, there are plenty of fetishes explored and I thought it's worth mentioning also because it's one of the few games I found where you get to be the domme and choose to be more caring and nurturing towards your slave or outright cruel and sadistic.

I really love historical palace intrigue dramas and female characters that are smart political manipulators, so I'm probably a little biased towards this game, but if you like lesdom I think you should give it a shot. The creator also asked me to beta test for them so I know they'll soon release a new update with plenty of extra content!

This visual novel has an interesting concept where each of the in-game mistresses has an addiction meter, and the more you interact with each of them, the more submisive and accepting of degrading treatment you become. There are new interactions that unlock once you reach a certain addiction level, but even the previous ones change and evolve gradually for at least 5 or 6 times during the game. (for example, one of the mistresses is an entitled rich girl who originally pays MC to lick her feet - originally MC does this begrudgingly/disgustedly and tells himself he is doing it only for the money, but if you ask to do this again later both the dialogue of the 2 characters and MC's thought monologues will reflect the gradual changes in his personality and his more submissive nature will come to the fore - I really liked this system) The game revolves a bit around giantess content, but one of the mistresses has no giantess content whatsoever and there are already several endings implemented even though it's just version 0.21

3. Heelfall - https://f95zone.to/threads/heelfall-v1-0-bo-wei-koda.76672/

New game by Bo Wei and Koda. I'm not personally too much into their style (for example I never really liked Tower of Trample because I felt the story was shallow and the characters had too insanely-big breasts and asses, which to me is a turn-off), but this one is decent and you'll especially like it if you are into femdom with a military/authoritarian state aesthetic. Almost all the mistresses are "imperial officers" of a gynarchic absolute monarchy and you are the leader of a resistance cell fighting the system who can experience lots of juicy defeat scenes! (usually at least 2 for each boss depending on how you lose) Haven't finished it yet, but like other Bo Wei games I expect there will be some nice femdom endings as well.


That's about it for now I think - there are a few other good games I found but I think they're in too early of a state to review them yet. (like Femdom Wife or Domina School) What I really like though is that, even if some of these games use the tag a bit loosely, there is at least 1 new "femdom" game that appears on f95 every two or three days! It's certainly much better than 3-4 years ago when we all mostly waited for translations from Japanese or new darktoz updates, so if this trend continues maybe we'll have femdom triple A RPGs by 2025!

To each his own, but I disagree you'd have to be a masochist to enjoy that. I love mind control erotic literature so I'd definitely like that in a visual novel or RPG format too, and I could say the same about a game where you are a slave in a gynarchic authoritarian dystopia. In both of these scenarios the mistresses could be clothed for the entirety of the game and never engage with you sexually, but I'd still enjoy it if they take everything you have, reshape your personality/ideals/principles to be more subservient towards them etc. (obviously it would be better with some erotic content added in, but for a lot of that, like foot worship, smothering, spitting etc the mistresses would still not have to be naked...) And you may argue that being turned on by just being ordered around/dominated/losing posessions is a form of masochism, but I think it's more a fetish for obeying the will of a beautiful woman (even to your own detriment), as just receiving physical pain or any of the traditional forms of masochism do not turn me on even nearly as much by themselves.

Not solely, but largely. One of the mistresses, Kaylie, has no giantess content at all. Escalation is a 3D game with great sound (in Japanese with subtitiles) but there's no free roaming, just watching scripted scenes one after another. There are only 3 paths though and one can select the outfits when replaying.
