The word "table-turning" has strong maledom connotations among femdom fans. This is why I had trouble settling on a good word for what you're describing. Table-turning also doesn't have a strong enough social status connotation for the kind of situation that interests me, which is why I followed DLsite's example with gekokujou.

A slower burn would be better for the story, have the hero slowly descend into the girl's control over the course of many days through smaller nudges. That would be more realistic.

You might want to check out Fyo's post on the bottom of page 2 of the Ai Shield thread; I think the poster there shares your views on characterization. I haven't played the game yet myself, but I'm a fan of stories where careful attention is paid to how the MC decides to submit (not when it comes to presentation of femdom itself, though; for example, it's cool when there's femdom-themed side characters whose actions are depicted early on which have an impact on the MC's mentality).

Have you ever watched a nature documentary about lets say the dinosaurs and they without fail for the 10000000000th time get to repeat how the earth formed from an accretion disk of stellar remains, and also how a huge asteroid killed them off? They could instead speak about details, the story could be about a small pond in the Triassic, without ever having to introduce you to the whole of cosmology and that the non-avian dinosaurs went extinct when a huge meteor about 10 km in size came sizzling down and hit the Gulf of Mexico. If you do, then it is this reason why I think not every femdom game needs to be about how X ended up being in a femdom situation. Instead the story can be about what makes the relationship work, and perhaps work backwards to reveal details about the genesis.

But maybe I am still silly today.

Oh, absolutely. I love many different kinds of femdom plots/scenarios. I was just saying that I empathize with enjoying a gradual build-up. But plots where the submissive MC starts off into femdom can be awesome too (like Escalation!). Or where they're not into it at first, but they're rapidly broken. (Since I haven't played Ai Shield, I can't say whether or not I would also think "this is too fast-paced for me". If you're curious about what does feel a bit fast-paced to me, maybe Femdom Wife Game would be an example... But I didn't dislike FWG particularly either; it was just enjoyable for what it was, and I'd love to see what it looks like finished.)

In the end, what's realistic or unrealistic to the player, or rather what they can self-insert well into or not well into, depends a lot on their own mentality, culture, and so on. It just makes sense for devs to write femdom situations that feel natural to them.

Yeah, I think first and foremost one must differentiate genres within adult games, I mean there is a huge difference in INTENT between a lets say a "fighting" game, an "rpg-like" game and a "story-based" game. Just like I don't expect Doom to have the story of The Witcher, I don't expect The Witcher to have loot like Diablo, etc.

Not sure if it's something to mention in your list, but for clarity's sake, the defiant path isn't now, nor will it become maledom or even vanilla. It just leads to harsher treatment.

I might've been the one that mislead Aseratrix by accident, so I apologize volbells. I took the fact that in the description of the game on f95 it asks whether MC could "tame" the dominant female character into a "helpful ally" or be tamed by her to mean that if one plays as a defiant male MC there may be some minimal maledom content in later versions - I'm actually relieved to hear that that inference is wrong and duly apologize to you! Also, great first chapter and I'm so far loving the submissive lezdom on this as I played as female on my first playthrough!

I realized something just now, browsing through the list and having a private chat with Raven:

Poney-play is a very underused expression, I never understood why, its basically the entry-way into femdom for many [the girl riding on your back]. When in RPGM's you travel with a girl or girls, it would be a no-brainer for them to ride you after awhile.

Peniban Quest also had some scenes where you pull the carriage of your female party members/mistresses if memory serves me right, but it truly is amazing how far less explored direct actual pony play is in femdom games as opposed to femdom porn videos, where it's pretty much a staple genre...

Or how for the 100000000th time they use non-feathered scientifically-inaccurate dinosaurs just because too many idiots took Jurassic Park for evolotionary-biology gospel... Just give me my damn winged and gracious swan-like raptors and the floofball giant chicken-like T-Rexes - the world would objectively be a better place for it! It's still crazy how few things actually do portray feathered dinosaurs as the norm, even though this is a known scientific fact for many years now. (and in case anyone takes me too seriously, no the T-rex did not look like a giant rooster - it had fewer feathers than that, but there was a cute and hillarios meme drawing of a T-rex that looked like a chicken which made the rounds on social media a few years ago)

Getting to your underlying point and debate with baxtus , I too agree there is a place for narratives that skip the intro of how the character got into lezdom/femdom, plus that "Ai Shield" establishes from the get-go that MC is in a desperate situation where they are submitting in order to be able to defeat a tyrant demon-king that oppresses his/her people, or in order to gain absolute power over the realm themselves, not because they are a natural-born sub.

I agree it would feel forced if MC just worships Ai's feet cause she ordered them to do so, but if you read the fine print of the situation, with MC having been almost killed by the Demon King in their last encounter, Ai actually holds all the cards as at least MC believes she is their only hope at succeding in their quest, and therefore MUST obey Ai for the time being out of practical and rational considerations! (eg to eventually gain absolute power, fame and glory or save the people of the kingdom, depending on your choices) It's a nice plot device volbells used with MC being already in a desperate bargaining position so as to skip the need for a slowburn start, but there will definitely be a further descent into deeper and harder femdom in future updates, as currently MC is only putting up with Ai's shenanigans because they think they have to so as to achieve their original goals - MC wasn't yet broken in the least, and I'm honestly looking forward a lot to how this psychological domination will be implemented in future updates! (granted mind control and a mistress training and reshaping an originally defiant character into her ideal slave, slowly picking apart their defenses, exposing their submissive desires and making them submit on her terms are among my favourite kinks, but even if they aren't for you the game definitely has a lot of ways to strengthen/develop the femdom going forward)

Btw, despite me having some gripes about Trials in tainted space, Lane arc was just beautiful. PC being gradually hypnotised into an obedient pet (with a permanent flag which would affect the ending when the game will be finished) and a little bit findom is just nngh. And while we're at it I think it's worth to mention Lorelei - the sexualised version of Rouge the Bat, who wants to make you her property~

Also, Aseratrix, the author of the two aforementioned characters made this game Equivalent Exchange, and while the main theme doesn't appeal to me fetish-wise, the power dynamic/the sex scenes are pretty on point and I think this game deserves to be in the list.

- this game is abandoned/discontinued, but nine years later and I'm still waiting for something which could beat it in it's genre xD Has tons of variations/content (some of which was removed with the latest release idk why). Half of female characters can dom MC at one point or another (but Rachel is one love ofc). Definitely would recommend to check it out even if you're not into the whole TF thing. The original PC gender is male but you can become a female on third (or second?) day if you make the wrong or right choices so keep that in mind if that bothers you.

I'm not sure. If I'm not mistaken there was a route with some non-con, feminization of the MC by the ladies (non-con too) and maybe something else but it was a reaaally long time ago.

Just downloaded this myself about 2 hours ago and was going to try it out later - I really like mind control and hypnosis if well implemented, and can also like chastity (although usually not as the main/sole kink as it is sometimes done), but by the looks of it there's probably way too little content as of now to tell how this will go. I feel bad for my being quiet and under-the-radar on this thread for so long, I been super swamped, so now that I got free time, I can at least do what I do best, which is poke and prod for gems and duds with things that get tagged femdom I had a surprising amount of free time this week, so I am trying to make up some backlog/play some recommendations.
