Define "controversial".I fully support the author's vision and so on, but given that before that almost all "controversial" content was optional, I quite understand "Interminable whining". In my opinion, it is quite justified.
I don't like vanilla romance plots in these games, as I think devs can't write it properly and is more fitting for some cheap vampire novel for soccer moms than a porn game. Should I whine when a game forces a default romantic partner (and too many do), or we can only consider controversial what a certain subset of players doesn't like? Is it a majority vote kind of thing and where can we vote? And if it is, do you think a game developing its critical path by committee is a good game?
Personally, I find more worrying the possibility of that movie reference being some meta commentary on dev's thoughts than any "forced fetish". Because any dev thin-skinned enough to feel "forced" to adjust their vision, is bound to fuck it all up at some point.
