Any sexual act that is initiated where at least one party cannot legally consent (ie mentally impaired, under duress/forced, ...) is seen as rape. Even consensual non consent falls under this.
Blackmail falls squarely under the duress/forced category and they don't care if it's only a fantasy...

On the other hand it helps to remember that Patreon does this out of fear of being banned by CC processors like visa or mastercard who've been on a "all porn is exploitation/trafficking/other bad thing" spree under influence of, mostly, religious lobbyists. It's all about the money...

sorry the saves are not working? How far do i need to go back this time to have them work? All my saves from the June release fail to work- I Load my April Save and it ends the game entirely going to main menu. and the uncensored patch is giving an odd error as well

And maybe the dev needs to look into subscribestar? I dunno if that is still a thing but some used it instead of Patreon because less stupid rules

So my game ends after getting the cage off. I remember there being more content. I saw somewhere in the thread that certain content was removed because of Patreon. Is it normal to stop at that point now since the content was removed? I had to start over too because my saves wouldnt load.

from what i gathered on the past post, someone on patreon got butthurt either because A.) blackmail tag, B.) LydiaNTR or C.) SaintLydia isnt a saint at all.
Theres an extended version on the way that stays true to the Main story and hopefully we can smack Lydia like the lying blackmailing whore that she is. Toddles

Played the new Patreon mandated update or whatever it was. Not a fan. The story is spinning its wheels and the new content isn't very good at all. It also still seemed shorter than the other version, even with the added material.

Patreon can't be seen to support illegal projects or they'll have trouble with the payment processors (PayPal, Mastercard, etc.), who want to be able to work internationally without running afoul of local legislation.

We don't know why Patreon cracked down on the game just now. It's entirely possible someone tipped off their moderation team, but the game may also just be a victim of its own success: The more successful and high profile a project becomes, the more scrutiny it risks from the mods.

It is a question of depiction I'd say, many famous works of art (movies, books) feature incest, shota, loli, rape, blackmail, also non sexual despicable stuff like mass murder, enslavement, and so forth, and nobody objects. If this stuff is "glorified", i. .e portrayed in a positive light, it is where it becomes critical, not only (from Patreon's side) from a morally POV but also from a legal perspective, since they don't necessarily want their access blocked in some countries and thus their revenue diminished. Or lose commercial partners. And probably to be on the safe side they decided to take out that content altogether.

And, yes, it's all about the money, of course, but risking large shares of your income for some stance on - let's be honest to ourselves - artistic expressions of sometimes questionable content, who of us would do it?

When it comes to under 18/loli/pedo content, I can 100% see the point. There is not a way the optics on that looks good and a good chance that it (digital character stories containing it) might be illegal somewhere in the world.

In terms of rape porn... The only reason I could possible see that being illegal is maybe a fear that the actress was "forced" into the "role" in movie shoots happening in unknown locations with unknown actresses. Not really a problem for digital characters.
I'm still doubtful that it's actually illegal in any substantial jurisdiction (Especially the US with Freedom of speech). A number of mainstream movies contains brutal and explicit rape scenes.

Sorry, not picking a fight here. I 100% agree with your conclusions. There was is snitch or the game was a victim of it's own success. I just think that the reason has got nothing to do with law and everything to do with optics.

From my point of view, I can kind of see the incest POV (Don't agree, but I can see it), but this one is just stupid and hypocritical. It's a mainstream tool used in countless stories and movies.
