Yeah have to agree with some others. I don't even know what is going on. It jumps around so much and the choices make no sense to me. I don't know who any of these characters are and I have to make choices that I have no idea about. Like, I have no context of what happens when she loses control or not or anything. I don't know these characters!

And like was mentioned, it just jumps around so abruptly with no coherent story at all. It's just scattered.

It feels like the dev had ideas for different stories they wanted to write, but instead of doing that, they just mashed it all together and prayed for the best. And the best never came. All these different perspectives and jumping in and out of different times during their lives, is just a confusing mess. Especially when it feels like you jumped in at like half way through the "story" with no idea what is even going on.

Sorry but this is a hard pass. It's just so confusing. There's no focus, it is just all jumbled with no coherent story. Still, good luck with whatever it is you're doing here, and thanks.
Ok, I can respect that. :) *notes: Expand Day 1 a little more with a little more clarity*. That is partially why I have in Early Access. What I think is a good idea may not be executed right. :)

I just check your and you have plenty of Graphic Novels titles published over the years. It appears that the previous lore surrounds Fiery Soul (there is also Primal Heart series) and probably this game either centers around the characters from that lore or serves as an expansion for it (purely speculation).

I believe you have a really good (if not great) story planned but the challenge is of course how to deliver it competently. I hope you are not working alone on this because it just might be too much to handle for one person. However, you had collaborated with others, mainly artists for your previous works so it most likely will work out just fine (even if it will a rough ride).

As for Fire of Life (your current title), there are a lot of diverse characters (mainly women:love::BootyTime:) which is awesome, and they all look very nice and hawt. I hope the players will get to know these characters in timely fashion, not too rush and not too far off either. Cheers.
Yes, that is the impression I am getting, which I welcome the feedback. I am still working on Day 2, but I can go back to expand a little on Day 1 and Night 1 to let it make a LITTLE more sense. And yes, the game is based on works I had previously done with trying to get through that storyline. My plan was for Fiery Soul, Primal Heart (Shifters), and a planned vampire story was to have multiple sides of the story with a central villian (basically cthulu). However, my hands gave out trying to handle Poser going into Cinema4d that I took a break for a few years. Now hair looks a little better than it did years ago (that I no longer have to try modify it TOO much). :)

You should write about your first story and make it series of Vn with only one mc and go from there might be easier for you as a dev to only focus on one story instead of 5 just my thoughts but good luck to you.

Hi. Nice renders. The scenes and the characters looks awesome. But, as the others, the story is just too complex. We got multiple characters without any background. Still, i can see that you got a great story in your head but you need to put some order first.

My advice for a really complex story would be:
1- Do this in chapters. Chapter 1 is the "vampire", chapter 2 is Eric, Chapter 3 is that Wendigo, etc. Each one of them start as standalone but with time some characters start to appear in others chapters.
2- Rewrite Day 1 so we can know who´s the MC. Then include him in all the stories. So far, i think the Vampire or Eric could be our MC.
3- Leave it as it is but first do some Prologue with some background. And then order the Day 1 scenes so it makes sense. Follow 1 character (for example the Fire Lady) and show us all of her scenes. Then the Vampire, etc..

So we, as players, can make some sense of what is going on xD Because so far i am completely lost jaja. I started thinking the vampire was the MC but then there was this Fire Lady, then this Eric, then this girl that transform in a wolf, then some girl hanging in some vampire lair...Is really confusing. It was like a Tarantino movie but on cocaine jaja.

Still, this game looks like a rough diamond.

I like your idea about chapters and got an idea how to go about it with going "Chapter 1", "chapter 2"..etc.

Perhaps I can have a screen where people can select a storyline to follow at the beginning. For example, Eric and Bria (fire lady...actually, that is not too far off. She is actually a Fire Fae and Lady is a common title for Fae Courts, but I am not there in the story yet ;)) Use flags to show how much of the story has been completed on that storyline.

Now to work out how people can quit the game while in that screen and still progress. I had that idea before, but got lost with the code for a moment.

I thinking of combining both of what you said and Lordsimmons said. Rather than making 5 different renpy games (because the storylines do cross), I can try to put the storylines in seperately. For example, College Kings has a launcher that allows you to either launch College Kings or College Kings 2. Same idea, but all within renpy. I might come up with another idea to solve this problem, that kind of where I am at the moment (if this cold can stop kicking my behind already. Trying code and render while coughing is not my ideal day) :)

for the love of God yes to these suggestions please, I was trying to figure out who was the MC almost the entire time, I settled on the swimmer w/ the asshole dad. Not really a fan of seeing sex scenes from non-main character, so would have been nice to know who to focus on and what to avoid.

Another game that might give you an idea is called Zeno's Anthology here. The game has 3 different storylines (so far) that are connected (but not revealed yet) and the players are not told (don't even know) the chronological order or timeline of the stories. I am not suggesting to use the same story idea but at least you can pick up something regarding the game mechanics or storytelling 'tools'.

Attached is sample how the screen selection looks like when players click the Play button. The players can select which story to follow (independently).

how do you rename?, I see the yes or no option for it in settings, but the names stay default.
Rename the MC you mean ? I don't think that is possible (at least for now I think) because the game has more than one MC (although I could be wrong because I have not played it myself).

Ok, another thing I need to redo: Naming. :)

So when you come across "I'm ..." or something, it doesn't come up with an input box? Additionally, when you get past the current prologue (I am going to change how I do it based on feedback I have received), there will be what looks like a pen and paper on the upper right hand corner. That will give you all the unlocked characters thus far. Click on any of them, and it should allow you to change their name.

Also, are you getting the "You have already played this game before"? It shouldn't happen unless you click Begin for a second playthrough..so if it does happen, yep...I need to fix it.

It is possible, but like other things, I need to simplify it. :) When a new character comes in and rename is true, it should go "I'm ..." or something along those lines...back to the drawing boards with that implementation. :)

Nice. It does give me ideas.

A draft of what I thinking of doing (and planning to go to sleep, think, and draft it some more). It is a button with an image and text..and will probably refine it. I will look at the Xeno game later to get more inspiration to how I want to get Renpy to tell it. Not that I need an excuse to render Bria in fishnets >.>

Not going to lie, seeing this render and how discombobulated the story is makes me not want to play this game.
The thing is, when telling a story you have to give us someone we care about, someone to get behind. This is why most stories have a main character. If you want to make this a character focused drama you don't necessarily need to be in the main character's head when telling a story from 3rd person perspective but you should follow the MC without doing a million perspective changes. Telling an occasional story from a different perspective can be nice, but the vast majority of your scene/screen time should be on a main figure we can follow, get behind and root for.

Now when it comes to a porn game, this is even more important. People tend to get preeetty specific about the things they will accept and what they wont. Lots of people invest themselves in the MC. You will hear a lot of "I wouldn't want my S/O doing that! I wont stand for it!" because they have so invested in the character they see it as an extension of themselves.

With that in mind, I can tell you right now the character above getting DP'd is an instant turn off for a lot of people.
If you want to make a fuck fest where we don't care about the characters and just have a wank to some rendered porn, that's fine, but it seems like this is clearly not what you are going for. So if you want us to care about the main female cast, showing them having sex with men besides the MC is not going to do it.

Even if it's rape not done by the MC, still not a good idea as while you might want to use it as a story point you almost always get more out of it and less risk of alienating fans by threatening it but having the character narrowly avoid it.

With the example renders you have, your going to attract a very specific type of fetish crowd. If your story is about corrupting and humiliating the female cast and having them used by all the men, your on the right track. If not, consider a pivot.

Either way, good luck. Always glad to see a game that has more of those World of Darkness vibes.

To add to what others have said;

First, I like that you're taking feedback and considering the way you're telling the story might be improved.

Secondly, as the poster above said, the majority of people do not want to see the LI(s) with other characters despite knowing that people have a past .etc in the same way that the majority of people don't want to watch their current IRL partner's sex vids that were recorded in the past with other people. Men, in particular, are very territorial about their partners at a biological level, men that aren't that way are the exception, not the norm. Thats why there is usually such a visceral response to seeing LIs being with partners that aren't the MC, that includes sharing and non-consensual situations.
It's doubly bad when it comes as a surprise to the reader, at of people check the tags and planned tags before even downloading for this very reason.

Third, I personally tend to avoid multi-protag VNs, the problem being that I either have to 'care' about one protag at the expense of the others or I end up not caring about any of them, so whatever happens to them doesn't matter as I don't care, which then lessens the impact of events in the story.
An example would be Pandora's Box 2, I don't care about any of the characters [didn't in 1 either] and I am just along to see how screwed up they get.
Contrast that with something like "Love of Magic" and I'm very invested in the story and its characters because I "play the part" of the MC. I cared when Bella went on her suicide mission, I cared when Emily was abducted .etc
Hopefully that makes sense.

Finally, if you do want to do a multi-protag story and run the narratives concurrently, take a look at the previously mentioned Pandora's Box 2 and how it handles switching between the characters while maintaining the perceived timeline.
I think that is an adequate way of handling it.

Best of luck.

Yeah, played it but can agree with most of the comments here, would suggest a story buildup similar to Sin City, (movie 2005)
It would probably work better with more focus on individual introduction stories first with a more gradual buildup of their characters and later bringing their stories together.

They are in the same college or at least most of them are, so starting there makes sense and it's valid to show the other characters or even have small interactions with them... But i would go easy on the sex at first, from hello to penetration in .6 seconds isn't needed most of the time.... It may work for the "school bike" or a succubus, but for any meaningful relation it's more valid to have some gradual buildup first or a love at first sight event, or any other acceptable conditioning...

Or keep the college as second (or later) part and introduce (a) character(s) in a story before going there, it's easy enough to switch to another character and let him/her see the arrival of the other(s) at the college...
Most important give us some time to get to know the characters backgrounds and their relations to the others, if there's conflict between them and if they have common grounds, if they're rivals or allies, what makes them tick....

Also making use of already established relations (like the swimmer and the roommate of the fire fae) is a good way to easily introduce the player to some connections between the several protagonists. (the friend/roommate can first appear in the story of the swimmer, later in the story of the fire fae, the player will now know there's a connection without the need of seeing the swimmer meet the fire fae directly yet....)

If you're planning optional sexual/romantic relations between the several protagonists i would suggest to limit the possibilities, 5 (?) protagonists/storylines is alot possible relations... (swimmer/friend-roommate/fire fae already is one possible 3way relationship)
And finally i would say good luck with your project!
