I find it really interesting how the original MTL was obviously done with a tool that can't account for sound effects and onomatopoeia (i.e.- why all the 'pan' slap sounds turned into bread), but the much better written additional images and UI elements still manage to need a spellchecker (albeit in a much lesser fashion, seeing how the worst of it I recall was literally just someone not knowing how to spell clitoris and ending up inventing the presumably much more mythical clitorus).
Anyway, for whoever cares: Lowering the Pride stat to 0% is how you unlock the main character's self-destruct skill that sex-on-combat-loss games all tend to have. You don't have to perform poorly- simply being willing to steal wallets and money strewn about and dropped by enemies will lower it enough less than half-way through the game without losses or running away from battles (though these two will also drop your pride).
You can sort of grind your pride back up by deliberately letting the rich NPCs use their attack-stat boosting money toss moves and choosing not to pick any of the dough (ha) up.
