well, my 2 cents on this, so far. i've seen a lot of people discussing and arguing that this isn't realistic. it's not. not by a longshot. there are a lot of skipped steps and omitted information. for starters, having an eidetic memory means you remember everything you see, not what you hear. if you have both, it's called a perfect memory. second, what this grunt most likely has is called selective eidetic memory, which requires years of training. could explain all the years he was forced to learn things. third, without him being a psychopath (please read up what that term actually means before saying anything), he'd have offed himself on the field long before becoming a civilian again, thanks to his memory. so yea, separating feelings from logic is something beyond common. fourth, night terrors and waking nightmares should be common, not a one off. it's just how the human mind works. you leave the battlefield but it never leaves you. especially when you have nothing to ground you when you return. fifth, attracting women like a magnet. it's called animal instinct. all humans have it. when you become a special operator (as the dev put it) and go through what he has, your whole stance changes. you walk with a certainty and an arrogance specific to an apex predator. and by instinct, those around are either attracted to that power and gravitate towards you or they make way and avert their gaze. sixth, the first instinct when seeing someone like the governor's son or vincent isn't to warn or befriend them but to quietly make them disappear. you don't give them rope to act or hang themselves, you tie the rope around their neck yourself and then push them off a cliff. this is a trope that shouldn't have been put in to begin with. makes this about as realistic as a 12 year old being a perfect sniper. seventh, while he's quite casual about friendships and sexual relationships to the girls around him, the second anything smells funny, he should've been straight battle ready and willing to eliminate any and all obstacles. if i had a penny for how many times i've seen this IRL, i'd be a billionaire. biggest peeve about this? getting the option to kill or spare the assassin. there is no option there. you hurt a brother. you only have one end: being tortured for information and then killed in the most gruesome way possible. the end. and then you go find a pair of willing arms and open legs to cool off.
i kind of get why a lot of things are the way they are. while i do have my peeves and my expectations, a normal civilian wouldn't be able to understand even 10% if you were to put it all in. i guess this is just the sacrifice you need to make when you try to please everyone. keep at it but don't try to do it all at once. you'll only fail. good luck.
