It's a shame that this game got abandoned, as I thought it had real potential. Masters of Raana (which this is kind of a copy of) started small but has blossomed into something big and interesting over the years, and I still love the Free Cities universe.

ahem, technically it's abandoned, but there's a spiritual successor that kept being updated to this day.. just look up "fc pregmod" (i can't give url because of the site rule)

I dont think this game is abandoned. The last I heard the devs are building an engine from scratch and then porting the game over. It's just taking longer than expected.

Well, you are mixing up two different games. ;) This game is abandoned, not Free Cities. The developer of "Free Cities: Origins" has disappeared from F95 since October 2023. The original Free Cities is not abandoned. As you wrote, the pregmod version of Free Cities is keeping that game alive and is releasing new versions regularly.

The developers posted one announcement last year (in May on Discord, then in June on their Subscribestar account) saying that they are "making significant progress with V0.1 which completely recreates the game via React." and that we should "Stay tuned!"
Their last activity before that was in 2023. Considering that they did not post any progress update since last year, I would not be too optimistic about the real status of this game and I see no reason to "stay tuned". :cautious:

I'm aware of pregmod, but this game is a very different kettle of fish. I really like the original FC, but I have to turn off a lot of the weird shit when playing!
