Having been a Navy brat, I have to commend the developers for this story. I can relate to almost everything that's transpired in the MCs life, which made following along so addictive and relatable (constantly moving, absent father, lack of companionship, lack of friendship, lack of emotions, demanding expectations, excessive discipline, immediate response and status, and financial issues, and at the end the father wanting a relationship with him like they were going to be best friends...). I have to wonder if they're not incorporating some, or a great deal, of their (or someone they knows) personal experiences in the story. I made a post several pages back that I found the Leah and Melody endings depressing and I'm fairly certain it irritated Laurie. She seemed to think I meant it sucked. I didn't say that, and I certainly didn't intend for it to sound like that. I apologize if that's the way it came across to you Laurie. It's just that to go though so much shit with his father throughout the story and then to have to change his life, move to Canada, deal with Leah being gone on assignment and only see her when she returned just made it seem like all the MC did was replace his father with Leah in his ongoing life relationship. With the Melody ending I thought the miscarriage was heartbreaking enough, but to see her so stressed/depressed/upset (whatever) that she had to go on a road trip to get away and regain her sanity and express her deepest emotions, was also depressing. I understand both are intended to show the MC's true love for the girl he chooses, and why, but it felt like the story build-up was written from a male perspective while the finale was from the female perspective. It's something I wasn't expecting or prepared for. I wasn't that vested in Karina, but I had a feeling the MC was going to have to deal with the parents, which he did. I wasn't expecting her to take the path she did, either. I did find an anomaly which kind of made me scratch my head with the Karina ending. In Chapter 18 I chose her to sleep with and had sex with her. In her finale, it says she's a virgin. Maybe the game I loaded was with the save where I slept with Melody, but I thought I had chosen the right one. I had seen another inconsistency in her story when the parents told the MC Karina would be attending a private college the next year because they weren't happy with how Leah was developing, yet at the start of the next year's classes, there's Karina. Did I miss an explanation somewhere as to why she was at a public college instead of the private college? Did the parents change their minds? If so, why? If I did miss something, someone please let me know... In any case, I thought it was a nice ending, even though he had to wait more than 2 years after the main part of the story to be with her. But again, it felt like it was written from a female perspective with the intent on romance and the "good things come to those who wait" philosophy.
I'd just like to reiterate, I do enjoy this story and game and I'm looking forward to the Alice finale and eventually the harem.
