Just to add a bit more clarity on what's goin on. The developer is working daily on the game's development, despite some exhaustion slowing progress. They've realized the game had become overcomplicated with too many past event references and decided to simplify future plans by cutting unnecessary group sequences and focusing on one-on-one experiences. They've moved and removed some planned content to streamline the current build and reduce the workload.

In reference to side content, they have been holding off on the monthly gallery to focus on the next build. And while voting is currently going on for the Grind'm update, the Dev build is their current focus.

This. The more characters you have the more complicated it gets to write a cohesive story. And then you end up with characters that some people want to see but never get any screen time, or characters that get too much screen time but are largely irrelevant to the story.

I can't completely agree with this. It all depends on the intentions behind it and the dev himself, of course.
If they are independent, you can have as much as you want.
But if they are intertwined or exclusive, then it becomes complicated to take into consideration every possibilities.

For this game, there should be a limited number of main LI and, the rest, just side characters for fun (with or without a main LI involved).
