yeah that's one thing I never liked is how Guy never talked to her about brent I forget if he does or not as well in the remake

Yeah, it was kinda dumb that he never warned her about Brent - but I always took it as, he likes her but is afraid to show it and telling her to dump Brent because he wants to be with her could (in his head) risk their friendship. It's dumb, but nothing we can do about that. They money is different though. I've said this before but if I was suddenly worth somewhere in the area of 30 million and someone who had been a good friend needed $20k in an emergency (or what they said was an emergency) - they could have it for a text message. I wouldn't even ask what it was for until after the emergency was past. It would be different if they kept coming back for more but even the second or the third time, I'd just send the cash and hope everything was ok with them.

Original Nicki said (and I'm paraphrasing here), "My boyfriend thought that if I took advantage of your crush we would have a better chance of getting money from you." .... If you read that and still defend Nicki saying there was no deception or using there, than you're delusional. I'm not saying she wasn't your friend, I'm not saying she's a bad person, I'm not saying she deserved it. I am saying she tried to use you. Period.

I think the debate is more about when she returns not when she ask for money. Tho I still think it's debatable she is taking fully advantage of the MC the first time too because of how she ask for way less money. I think she is still taking advantage of him there is no debate there but I think it's just to a lesser degree cause if she truly was taking advantage of him I feel she wouldn't ask for less.

I mean, strictly speaking, using someone means that the individual is being dishonest about their intentions and the victim is oblivious to their actual intent.
Straight up saying that wouldn't qualify it as using someone, that's just being blunt and at that point it's up to the other individual if they want to engage with it or not.

Having someone go "hey, so my boyfriend thought you liked me so you would be more likely to give us money because we're in a tight spot" and you giving them money isn't you being used, that's just you agreeing to give someone money.

Well, two points. One, in order for it to be deception it'd kind of require not to blurt out Brent's whole dumb plan to the mark. And two, that was Brent wanting to use Guy's crush. Nicki doesn't initiate anything that'd be actual use of said crush -- she could've easily flirted with Guy in order to get the money if that was her making use of it. Instead she just hangs out with him the way they always did and simply reveals Brent's plan and asks Guy for help.

If you say that still counts as "using the crush" because Guy has a crush on her... well, from this perspective there's no way for Nicki not to "use the crush" as long as Guy has feelings for her, if even simple request for help is going to count as such.

I'm also a fan of OG Nikki since she was realistically flawed.
Might also be why she wasn't exactly popular, given that she was just like a regular person making some dumbass decisions.

I just do things differently I think. There are people I know, and there are a lot of those and most of them I more or less like but when it comes to my good friends, my "inner circle" kinda thing, I'm very ride or die, or "

". If they ask for help, I'll help - no judgement, no hesitation, no questions if they don't want questions. And in guy's case, Nicki seems to be his only close friend. (Notice no one else that he knew before has 'come out of the woodwork' - at least until his sister turns up.)

I like the new version a lot more, Guy gets to act like a friend andto offer the money without being asked. And if youchoose to havesex it doesn't come across as transactional. If she still ghosts in the remake it is still realistc and shows flaws, but also there is more realism on Guy's side of the story where he is the one to reveal his new wealth which matches up to what his lawyer said and plants the seed for a future "I told you so" fromthe lawyer if Nikki and Brent waste all the money he gives them.

Been a while, so whats the remake about?

Are you rewriting/improving upon the old story to create a better one, while still continuing development on the initial story?

New chapter one, and small additions at the beginning of chapter two (both finished at this point). He's going to spend the rest of the month integrating/streamlining the code for the rest of the game as it exists (through Chapter 10), then back to chapter 11.

Yeah i see characters get shit on all the time because they're flawed and I don't get it. If one person is shown to do 90% good things, why would you hate them for the 10%? No one in the world has a completely clear slate with no regrets so why would you expect characters too?

I could be wrong but it seemed like it was mostly dark path enthusiasts who were using her (perceived) fuck up as a justification to abuse her (and then go on a spree.)

But surely her being more whole wholesome and whatever, works as a better justification

Currently it's one person who we're told is a close friend, "wrongs" guy so he does the things he does

Going forward, it's one person who were shown to be nice, and caring and a real close friend, "wrongs" him. The gymnastics that he'd have to do to reach that conclusion would better convey how fucked he is mentally.

To me anyway. Plus the remake adds an option to show how we he feels about women anyway, so if he's already negative about them, then it fits even better into the justification

IDK that's just what the complaints seemed to be about. I only have the one save and it's a Nikki solo path, so I can't really explain.
