*Just played and no rape scene for Niccky at the start, so yeah, dark content may be removed. No garantees dev will bring it back. Also by the size of the update and the frequency, we'll need at least 3 years to catch up the story. So I'll keep my vision: Remakes are just for milking

You were either playing Friends Indeed, or hadn't patched the game. There absolutely IS a rape scene in the new chapter one.

As has been said many, MANY times already, he is not remaking the whole game. He remade episode one, added a bit to the beginning of episode two, and the rest just needs it's code integrated with the new material, which gave him a chance to clean up the code in general. All of the new material is finished, and available to paying members. This is all publicly available information.

And none of US, who actually pay for the game, and pay attention to the updates, have had any complaints. Neon is an extremely consistent and communicative developer.

IIRC it's mostly down to tanking Nicky's opinion of MC (it starts at 10 or so) Don't pick nice options when interacting with her when she shows up on Guy's doorstep (tell her you thought she looked like a whore etc) When showing off your new place, be boastful rather than humble. If you lower Nicki's opinion to 0 with such moves by the time the strip thing comes to a close, she'll be pissed off and want to leave, and you get increasingly insistent options to stop her, that end up with ability to rape her.

I think I know one of the main reasons I like Nicki so much. She is down to earth and feels like a real person.

Her conversations with Guy in the new chapter one feel fleshed out and well written, which helps with building a connection with any LI really.

I recently did a proper Ashe pt and I'm liking her a lot too, but she didn't get the Nicki treatment with the rework (yet?), so for that reason I'd put Nicki somewhat above her.

Ashe's intro got a little visual facelift, but the dialogue is largely unchanged. Gabby's intro got a little more severe reworking, but it leads to the same place.
