I updated to version 0.71, but I'm still getting error messages. It seems like the variable "ripath" is causing issues.

I'm sorry, but an uncaught exception occurred.

While running game code:

You are probably using a save from a former leaked alpha/beta version, check here:

“ripath” was set as a control variable at the beginning of Chapter 9. So, go back to a save from the end of Chapter 8 (when you get the option to see Brent’s story or proceed to the next chapter) and go from there.

Also, did you post the same message on my Patreon? I got the same question over there. Make sure you’re not running Friends Indeed, but using a Friends in Need save file, to avoid any other hiccups.

Taboo patch from the OP doesn't seem to work with 0.71.
The patch is only activated once you start a new game. So, if you created a save file where it wasn’t there, and then drop the patch file in/change the existing value to “True” it still won’t work for that save file. But, if you start a new game, it should.

And as always, make sure you downloaded Friends in Need, and not Friends Indeed.

0.71 is out, in case you didn't notice since it wasn't "promoted" (side note: the site staff wrongheadly thinking of putting an update on the Latest Updates page as a service to the devs - promoting their games for them - rather than a service to the users - keeping us fucking informed - is an enormous goddamn problem with the user experience on this site).
I expect I'll get to it over the weekend.

Ahh okay, thank you for your response! I didn't get a message on Patreon which is weird, but I removed my comment from your update post as it's not relevant.

Edit for new version v.0.70A - I am very likely not updating the mod until the final 0.70 version is released.

Well here it is, a gallery mod to replay scenes in the game

Compatible with: Friends in Need

Hey, can you update the gallery when you are available? I think he has already released the final version.

I'm not sure if you noticed or if anyone informed you, but v0.71 public is now here if you want to update now.

Anybody think that Cassie and Lucien could possibly cross paths?
I kinda guessed that Cassie might be in Lucien's clutches due to a few images, but I was wrong. The images in question were basically, there was a background chick that Cassie was at a party with who you also see posing nude in another questionable photo. Sooo, who knows, maybe Cassie has info to offer Guy in that regard?

Here's an unofficial PDF walkthrough for those who might like one. Possibly contains errors; further updates unfortunately not guaranteed.

14th edition, updated to: v0.70b (Chapter 10).
This GREAT game needs a GREAT walkthrough mod !

I wanted to ask. Regarding editing saves to cheat to increase points, there is a check when loading that, no matter the choice the loading fails (the question is something along the lines of "the save is from another device, do you trust it? Y/N). neither options do anything. does anyone know how to bypass it?

This.

Another option, if you want to turn it off for everything, is to make a change to the RenPy signature checking. These are the steps I found on Reddit and saved. Once you change it, every game *should* work without an issue... at least they do for me.
  1. Open Windows Explorer
  2. In the Address Bar type in (or copy/paste)
    Code:
    %appdata%/renpy/tokens
  3. Open the "security-keys.txt" file.
  4. Delete the key strings under "singing-key" and "veryifying-Key".
    1. (All that should be in the text file then is "signing-key" and on the next line down, "veryifying-key") Screenshot 2024-12-05 142641.png
  5. Save and close the file.
  6. In Windows Explorer, right-click the file and select Properties.
  7. Check the box for Read Only and press OK.
If you don't use the Developer Menu and Console, you can edit the save files online and they should load up just fine.
