Glad you enjoyed the chapter! And yeah, you're pretty spot-on re: my desire to make the world feel like a world. I don't see the point in having an uber-rich protagonist, if he just sits in his mansion every day, while attending to his four vacant-eyed live-in love interests. Plus, it's just fun to see how different people react to this guy who's still learning what it means to be so wealthy. From Isabella the social climber, who immediately latches onto him, to Kara the motel owner, who's completely oblivious to who he is. By putting Guy around all these folks, I'm better able to explore the weird social and economic power dynamics at play.

Plus? At the end of the day, I am making a porn game, which aims to have some story/heart. So, I save the more natural and organic sex scenes for the main love interests. Then, if I want to do something of a one-off, I've got characters like Dash, or the Cheetahs hostess Amanda, or the hotel girl Kara.

It'd be interesting to know if Cassie will have her own side story as Brent did in "Foe at a Low" (think that's the name). How was her relationship with the main protagonist before he left, what made her go to the city and how she ended up in a cell right next to him (that one was unexpected).

If those 2 influencers were to cross paths with Lucien due to some enticement from his part, Blitz (I think that's the name of the guy) might well be disposed of. And Cutiedoll (the NPC streamer) on the other hand will have a bad, bad time (just like that Kelsey influencer girl at the cafe will be in soon).

Cutie doll is the exact type of person that Lucien wouldn't want to fuck with. He likes girls that can disappear without too much struggle, someone like her whose absence would be notable would be a nightmare for Lucien who likes doing his deeds in the dark

I just realized Tessa doesn't replace Viola on the dark route, so she appears in all routes. Even better! I think I was off, as usual, in a few things I said in my review actually, but ohhh wellll

I could be way off, but I wonder if Tessa is going to be most utilized in the dark route, maybe not even as a victim depending on just how dark she is inside. I think she's rich? And she's already a naughty bitch.. so I don't know how much influence corruption guy will have on her. Nice guy is just toilet paper to wipe her ass and flush.

I don't know, maybe there's a heart in there somewhere? She is young after all.. could be more of a Brent situation, where she's just so trapped in her own head and privileged life and just has genuinely never taken the time to really pay attention to herself and what she does to others.

And on Viola, I don't know, I think I know what you guys mean about her personality, it does feel like there's been a change. But, here's the way I see it: 1) probably the biggest reason, she knows she has an income lined up to pay her bills, with Guy, and doesn't have to worry about giving in to her creepy landlord; that can put a pip into someone's step, and she certainly seems more relaxed and confident. 2) She's just more comfortable with being herself around Guy now, she trusts him more, at least on the nice route. I haven't played the corruption route, so maybe it's more noticeable there? I can't even remember how exactly she reacts to his little strip show in chp 3. And 3) this is probably a kinda silly explanation, but I think in chp 3, it was evening and near closing time? This chapter is more noon-ish? So maybe she was just more tired and worn out in chp 3? Especially if she's an introvert, socializing all day can be exhausting, and then add not being a native speaker on top of it. I dunno.. something to consider, at least

“ripath” was set as a control variable at the beginning of Chapter 9. So, go back to a save from the end of Chapter 8 (when you get the option to see Brent’s story or proceed to the next chapter) and go from there.

Also, did you post the same message on my Patreon? I got the same question over there. Make sure you’re not running Friends Indeed, but using a Friends in Need save file, to avoid any other hiccups.

The patch is only activated once you start a new game. So, if you created a save file where it wasn’t there, and then drop the patch file in/change the existing value to “True” it still won’t work for that save file. But, if you start a new game, it should.

And as always, make sure you downloaded Friends in Need, and not Friends Indeed.
