I’m not speaking on behalf of Neon, only making observations. He usually posts here daily but hasn’t for a week or so but is still active in discord. I also don’t think most of the criticism over the last four months has been valid. There were weeks of people saying that the game was as good as abandoned because he was remaking chapter one.
That's my point, he engages with us from time to time so he's not averse to feedback or criticism like some other devs who hate f95.
Sure, there are some doom posting with the remake but you can ignore that easily as missinformed players I think.

Dev Update! 5/19/25
Hey friends, hope you're all doing well this week!
First, just in case anyone missed it: I posted a new text short story featuring Madison, which has two pieces of art accompanying it. The first part of said story can be found (for free!) in the sticky'd post on the landing page. I'm not sure how long this one will be, honestly. I'm kinda having fun with it, so we'll see how much longer I want to keep it going.
As far as the game, work continues here in the rendering mines, and I'm making steady progress. I've added 250ish renders over the last two weeks, and I'm nearing the end of the work I need to do for the stuff that goes between the new Chapter 1 and Chapter 2. There's some additional background for our hard-luck hero, a new ero scene, and some little appearances from Carolina and the Chen family.
As always, things end up taking me longer than I'd like, but I'm working as quickly as I can to get this stuff finished, so I can move onto rendering Chapter 11. I promise, I'm just as eager to get back to the present as everyone else is. I'm planning to hit the ground running on June 1st, so that's my self-imposed deadline, to stop fiddling with other stuff.
Finally, just for fun I'm adding a little image of Isabella. Because when I buy a new lingerie asset, I can't not try it out right away!

Well, it's one thing to see it play out in a porn VN and be like "pfft, what an immature idiot this Guy," because it's just a porn VN; but in the real world, that shit would scare the fucking shit out of you. What if someone did that to your sister? Come on, you can't convince me you'd be making this argument.
It doesn't really matter if on some level it's petty, or immature, or 'silly' or something, all that matters is it's ultimately dehumanizing and threatening and mentally unstable; obviously it's not real, it's just a story, but I think the feeling of 'this could actually happen' is what Neon was going for, for the player to engross themselves enough into the story so that they see it play out in their head as if it were real; that's how I tend to read good stories, anyways.

Honestly, I doubt it was ever you, you're really chill every time I read your comments. There's a few other regulars (that I'd really love to call out, but I know I shouldn't), and many, many more randos that are the issue. What probably happened is when you're getting like 25 comments all saying the same criticism that the author (and some of his fans) doesn't agree with and has explained many times it isn't going to change, but 20 of them are max entitled bitch mode and honestly making dumb arguments as non-devs non-writers anyways, the other polite 5 being reasonable can kind of blend in if you get me.
A good storyteller should care more about his or her characters. Yes, they should care about the audience too but the priority should be the story they want to tell, not what people think at the very beginning of the story. I can guarantee that a story that is written by polling the readers after each chapter will be terrible by the end.

I can guarantee that not all the people "giving him money." are exactly fans of it either. Some of us simply decided not to take part in the circle jerk debate after certain members of the community decided that instead of having rational adult discussion the debate should instead sink to the level of insinuating that anyone disagreeing with them were of lower intelligence. That was followed by others then making the same statements. So yeah. It ain't all candy and rainbows over in paidtown, just some of us have bowed out and decided that mayyyybe it's not a place we want to be anymore. Which is okay, not every community is for everyone, just don't assume that just because people are here and not there that they don't pay. Thanks for playing the assumption game though.
Obviously I don’t know everyone’s status. I’m just saying that the atmosphere between the two places is completely different. No one there seems to be criticizing the new Chapter 1 (or complaining because there was a remake, or about Blue Valentine) or really complaining about anything - but that’s been most of what’s going on in this forum for 4 months now.
Discord? Normally full of yes men, it's why its commonly considered an echo chamber. Rude places are where you find the truth normally.

In my experience, the rudest people are usually the most selfish and usually also have the dumbest, most confidently ill-formed opinions; and on the other side, the most thoughtful people tend to be quiet and express their opinions tentatively. Usually. Like, at least 80% of the time if I had to put a number to it. But either way, not really going to find 'the truth' for a porn VN anyways, it's all horny opinion.
