Remade 1-10 sometime in June (I'd assume with the current information available) and 1-11 sometime Septemberish (I'd assume with all currently available information, and the safe assumption that most devs tend to run a bit behind their own projections)

Says he's giving himself until June 1 to finish 1-10 - but it's basically done anyway, he's just tinkering at this point I think. You may be right about 11 but it is already begun (there was a teaser for it tagged onto the end of 10) but I don't know how far along it is.

not a fan of the remake stuff so far, feels like it's a lot of extra bloat to the opening that isn't needed, and also thought the original premise of her showing up specifically to try and get money from you, and then allowing you to choose how to deal with that was a more interesting approach

I'll say that the remake was a little much for me, I appreciated the succinct nature of the original. The renders needed improving, but the new is too long.

I saw there's a new update on Substar, haven't DLed it yet. Does anyone know if this one is 1(remade)-10 inclusive, or are we waiting for more chapters to be worked into the remake?

No idea, but Neon said that his deadline for finishing the 1-10 integration was June 1, but it would be weird if he finished tinkering a day early and decide that it was ready for release on the same day. Earlier this week he said he hadn't decided whether to release 1-10 at all or just wait until late July and release 1-11. So I'm guessing it's something else (bugfix maybe ... dunno).

The new update is just the interstitial stuff between the new Chapter 1 and 2. It shows how Guy started the charity, why he went abroad, his feelings on Nicki's absence, his return home, shows his relationship with the Chen family, and finally has him arrive at the bar where he'll meet Ashe. Adds 350~ images, and an ero scene with various options which is used to shape Guy's personality moving forward.

Correct! They still own and operate it, Guy's just a co-owner now.

Nope. Wouldn't make much sense to scrub chp 1 after having added one of the best dark scenes in chp 10 and continuing to add them in the unreleased chp 11.

Getting ever closer to a release.

I know you don't like to give things away, but I'm guessing that ero scene is our MC's first opportunity for a truly dark scene after the rework? If that's the case, and it ends up replacing Nicki's place in that regard, I like that. I know a number of players don't, and I get why, but personally, from the perspectives of character logic and narrative pacing, I think it works better. Now Nicki can return without too many head scratches and unanswered questions if you went for dark Guy route; even considering an abusive background, it still felt odd and like it didn't have enough development. Not only that, but now that Nicki is truly established to be a close friend, her abuse can be shifted to later chapters and it makes it more meaningful and 'earned' imo, instead of her introduction and 0-10 betrayal from Guy all being crunched into the beginning. Just my 2c, don't know how you feel about it.

I'm pretty blind right now, though, so I guess I really need to play it before I can comment on anything.

EDIT: I really do need to play, though, because I think I just remembered that there's an option to rape Nicki in the chp 1 rewrite All the talk of the dark route being 'gone' got me confused. But still, I think it's supposed to be softer than the original? Maybe everything I just said is pointless or maybe it still applies, ohh welll.. Looking forward to playing either way!
