And that's nothing new, I think? I can't say for sure, but I think that in the pre-remastered version, you had to rape either Nicki or Ashe, otherwise the dark path would be blocked.

OK, I've checked every option and it turns out that you have to rape at least one person (I recommend the Brazilian chick because we're not likely to see her again) and choose options "Leave him, he's not your responsibility"(during meeting Mason in the alley) or "Be cheap" during the meeting with Mason.(this one where you give her/him your business card)
For the rest, you can be nice and you'll still be able to do whatever you want with Pepper.

I don't think you have to be cheap with Mason or ignore him. I started again yesterday and I just went ballistic on the Brazilian chick but was generous with Mason and had no issues with Pepper (well, I mean...).

I just checked it a moment ago, if you just rape a Brazilian woman and for everyone else you are nice, you will not be able to rape Pepper.

And by "nice" I mean: you don't rape Nicki/offer Nicki money for sex, you don't blackmail Ashe, you give Mason money and are generous to her/him, you are a gentleman when talking to Gabby and during the photo shoot with Brittani.

For those who like myself have just arrived after some time and are confused.
The paying supporters for this game are of the connoisseur variety of AVN enjoyers who for their own reasons prefer remakes or perhaps just don't mind indulging the developers plans. The nature of it has always been less so paying for a product and moreso supporting the developers vision for the game. They do get a say in the developmental process but are more likely to allow the dev his creative freedoms at times, especially if he's fostered a good relationship with them over time.

It's funny cuz you'd think the ones paying would be the stingy ones but the opposite is true as what you see around here like us who get this game for free and instead find it strange to prefer all this backtracking rather than just getting on with it. It's just lost momentum.

Most important though is no ones loses out on anything. The situation is the dev doesn't care about losing fans who don't pay and said fans haven't lost a dollar for that reason either, fair. It's understandable dropping a game that already stretches it's time between many developing narrative threads amongst a never ending expansive cast that now due to the remakes has spent additional time being retroactively developed and reworked... easy to lose interest in a situation like that, factor in one that originally ended on a cliffhanger close to half a year ago and eventually you forget certain things, realize there are new things to replace what you already knew and then ... end up leaving it be. It's not a good thing or a bad thing it just happens. There are other games just as great that don't indulge in these practices, maybe put your money/time there instead. No hard feelings because for this dev, NeonGhosts, he already has all the friends he needs.

As much as people complaining about stuff we already knew about annoys me, this is a comment I actually agree with.

If devs finished their games then went back to remake whatever they needed to there would be far less complaints. People would get to finish the game without massive delays and devs would have all the time they needed to change what they wanted to change without disrupting the flow of their players.

Well, the dev has explained the update countless times, why they were necessary and why it would've been awkward to wait. That, plus the comparatively short development time on the remake and the clear consistent progress for maybe 5 years at this point makes this all a nontroversy. It's just another stream of freeloading pirates(/bots? ) bitching about having to wait for their 3d jerk session, like who honestly really cares lol

Tbh the dark path for the majority of girls except maybe Viola feel like this as they will literally either fuck you or at least have some sexual interaction with you the same day if you don't go down the dark path. It's kinda like why even do it when they will legit fuck you that SAME day either way. It's not like it takes less effort or something.

These are porn games, they lean into fetishes... lol

Since then, it s been nothing but reworks... and then this "Friends Indeed" release! It s all good and stuff and i still like the game... but I'd really like the story to move forward. The dev has made it pretty clear that this game is supposed to lean into the narrative angle, where characters should be consistent, rather than into the pure player freedom dev route that some players want. It was already like that in the previous game for the most part anyways, the rework just gave the dev the opportunity to shore up anything that didn't work in the story, again from a writing perspective.

I think the idea is that you need to establish what makes your character tick, what your MC is capable of in the beginning and going forward. I haven't looked at the code or gotten very far into the new remake, so I'm not completely sure about all the little nuances about what each dark scene requires, but basically if you want the freedom to grape anyone at any time based on whatever you feel like in the moment, that's not going to be possible unless you download a cheat mod, which is really, really easy btw if that's what you want to do.

Otherwise, you get a really sweet, seemingly normal MC throughout most of the game that can suddenly brutally grape a chick for absolutely nothing, which now the dev has to come up with a satisfying explanation, an ending, and so on; or worse, just leave it as this weird querk of the game that gets ignored. Pretty jarring internally in the narrative even though some players want that freedom.

Being in his SS, there's no point at which I feel the recent slow pace has anything to do with milking. The updates are too often. There's no silly stories or anything about this delay or that. He's adding a ton of crap to the base game, because he wants too. The Mini-sodes, the text based stories, etc, etc.

He wants to sell the game on steam and make some money like anyone would in his position.

The first chapter was rough and you only get one first impression with Steam. So I think people should cut NG some slack because without money he simply wouldn't have time to make this wonderful game we all enjoy.

Pointless and unwanted according to whom? I would think (and that's just like, my opinion man) that when it comes to creative works, the author is the one that has the most credibility when it comes to what is and isn't necessary because at the end of the day, only the author of said creative work knows what he means to convey with his work.
I get the frustration, I really do, and people have a right to be frustrated, but in any artistic work, the only one that knows what he wants the story to tell is the one telling it (or painting it or whatever).

According to me, my wrist and my dick, this is absolutely not a rosey romance. Maybe you just didn't make the right choices or just didn't have the patch installed? I assure you it's still very dark if you go that way. I wouldn't be here if it wasn't anymore.
