yea and it's exactly that that ruins the game for me, i was having so much fun in the andriod version that didnt have those changes only to get the pc version that has them and ruins it completely, so sad

as much as i'd love that i doubt they will since they changed it for a reason (that i completely disagree with but what can i do besides voice my opinion on it)

that was one of the reasons given which since this is a parody game doesn't really mean shit it's fair use, but seeing as how this is being sold on steam i guess that nullifies the fair use argument, so basically they changed it so they could sell the game which for a parody game is just a disgusting thing for a developer to do
Nice quadpost. This game wouldn't exist if it wasn't for the colour and name changes. That's the reality. Now you can either face reality, or continue complaining in your little fantasy world where everything revolves around what you want.

b4 i quote/say anything else i have to say my previous comments were only criticisms/opinions i had with an otherwise imo perfect game and voicing my opinion on the changes that were made that i did not agree with (the quad post was a bit much but at the time i was in a terrible mood, I have since cooled off so i apologise for that) now to the actual reply.
as for my mods progress I have already started work on it and I have changed Blossom back and am working on Honey and Prisma/Riku (which are proving a little bit harder to do)(the 3 that I though should not of been changed).
any others that had name/colour changes done to them I can do aswell but I need the names of the character that were changed, so if anyone wants any of the other characters changed just let me know their names and I will see about getting them done aswell as soon as possible
i disagree knowing what i know about similar games to this/other games in the genre the game absolutely could/would exist if u didn't make the changes, what wouldn't happen though is u wouldn't be able to legally sell the game on steam or any other platform if u didn't make those changes because that would infringe on copyright and not be held up by parody usage (which technically this game still is it's just not legally a parody because of said selling it).
or I can do what i am doing and put a mod out for those that want it once im finished with it, i decided to just make the modification that people have requested myself since that is the only way i am going to get the changes i want made and i will be giving it to people that want it (free of charge of coarse) (oh and i dont know if u intended it to be (I certainly hope u didn't intend it to be) but that comment comes off as being rather nasty imo which as a future developer myself i know u really shouldn't do as a developer unless u want to drive people away from buying/supporting your games).

If you could also change back Agatha, Ari, Sonia, Dawn, Penelope/Sundowner i'd appreciate it. I actually tried changing Blossom, Honey, And Prisma/Riku back myself. But the task was too insurmountable for me.

dude its a parody game, games based on other franchises aren't allowed to make money because of copyright and no matter of changing names and colour schemes is going to change that, if they wanted to make money they shouldn't of based their game off of an existing franchise to begin with or at least made it less obvious that it was based off of an existing property

blossom wasn't to hard to change back (unless the dev added more scenes with her past V1.01 same goes for Riku), im having a little trouble with Honey because it seems more scenes were added for her or I just didn't do it right in my testing of it.
as for the other characters ill have to check them out to see how easy/hard it will be but if they haven't changed too much it shouldn't be too hard.
the biggest problem is any scenes that were added for any changed characters after V1.01 (speaking of which is that the last version b4 all the changes happened i dont actually know) since im working from that version all scenes added will most likely have to be manually edited and based on my testing i can do it but trying to match the art style exactly is very hard.
the only other problem is play testing since i haven't actually played much of the game and I don't want to spoil the story for myself it's hard trying to find if my changes worked.
on a side note i have had a go at changing Cream to Pinkie Pie's colours (that manual editing testing i have done) but seeing as that has to be done manually since i have no previous references of her being pink that will take allot more time if anyone is interested in that change
EDIT: im working on changing those characters for u, Sundowner/Penelope and Prisma/Riku will/is take/taking the longest to change because the files have to be renamed and can't simply be copy pasted like the others that didn't receive name changes can be.

update: ive tested all of blossom's, Agatha and Sonia's scenes and they all work, 2 of Honey's scenes need to be manually edited, i have yet to edit Prisma/Riku and Sundowner/Penelope's scenes, and i need to test Ari and Dawn's scenes but it's coming along just fine.
editing the file names and manually changing the colour of Honey in those 2 scenes and then play testing is what is going to take some time to do so ill get back to u once ive made more progress

They are selling it right now no issues.
If they (Whoever own mlp) could sue they would have already done it.
Its already different enough that you cant take it as a mlp game.

the changes were made so they could sell the game and not be effected by copyright because they are selling the game, if they hadn't made those changes and still were selling the game then it would be a breach of copyright but as it stands now without the modified version i am making it is different enough that they shouldn't be able to claim copyright on it even though it is still clearly a MLP parody game.
if they hadn't made the changes but weren't selling the game then it also wouldn't be effected by copyright because it would then legally be able to be claimed as a parody game and be exempt from copyright laws

It isn't nearly as rich in content like this but its definitely more your speed.

as i said the only reason the changes were needed is because the developers are so greedy as to want to make money off of a parody game instead of making it their own thing from the start like they should of if they wanted to sell their game, that may sound harsh but that is because it is u just dont make a parody game and then charge for it thus having to change things about it it is wrong.
I know they are making another game and from what i understand of what they have said of it it is it's own thing and doesn't rely on a pre established franchise like this game does because as i have already said no amount of changes is going to change the fact Friendship with Benefits started off based on the My Little Pony Franchise.
the changes as much as i don't like them dont change the fact that the story is great (or at least what ive played so far is) and seeing as how it is only a colour swap that is easily fixed with a mod (which i am making myself) it's not really much of a problem.
and if u must know i have already played Pony Waifu Sim and i much prefer Friendship With Benefits despite the art style changes this late into the games development (which really is the problem i have with it, the fact that it was changed right b4 the final update) which is why i am voicing my opinion in the 1st place, geez people can take criticism well these days not that im one to talk there because i dont either

Gee imagine wanting to make a game for money.
Again there is nothing unethical here as again they followed through the necessary channels to be able to sell this.
Saying they should had made something else just so you didn't have to deal with an altered MLP parody sounds quite selfish honestly.
Besides doing games and being funded through patreon is the same kind of unethical as well which is why some overzealous IP holders shut down "free" game projects.
It would still be unethical even if the devs didn't made the game to be sold on steam and made a pretty 1:1 parody.
