No "Busy" person is that oblivious of a son that was 4 years frozen.
Let's Occam Razor this shit. She simply doesn't care at all about the MC. She sends him to live with the sister that hates his guts, so she doesn't have to have him with her. She dissociated herself from him before he was even Frozen. That Xmas photo was probably the last time she bothered to pretend. Maybe because her other daughter was watching (the one in the back).
That "mother" cared about him so much that in the confrontation the only thing she cared for was for him to have access to the money that Sara took care for him. Not about his feelings, not about his well being, not about having him close to her, no, just the money that she didn't even bother to take care herself. I know a good place she could stick that money up...
Emily, has a bone to pick with the MC, because of what happened with the sister she really, really loved. She either thinks he killed her himself, or was involved with the people that did. The Hack, she is using it as an excuse. She's manipulating the mother feelings of guilt for no longer even remembering she has a son to make her agree to the surveillance and complete abandonment of the MC.
Neither of these 2 are good persons. They either forget he even exists or have total distrust of him. After the confrontation, where they made some insignificant concessions to gain his compliance, they'll continue to gaslight him and pretend they are still a family.

I liked this game although there are points in the story that I didn't like, but that's not what I'm going to talk about, but rather about Rachel, she and the doctor are the best characters in the game, but unfortunately I can't go with her romance route because she's a futa and I don't like that kind of character, I even tried to do her route once but it just doesn't work, I can't like that kind of content which is a shame because I really like the character, the right thing to do in this case was to let the player choose what she would be like in other games, whether she would be a woman or a futa, so it would please both types of players, those who like that content and those who don't.

That's quite literally impossible, her being a herma is central to the story. It's a huge part of the plot.
I hate to be "that girl" but if people don't like content with futa's then this probably isn't going to be the game for them. They are a massive part of the plot.

What if this so called main idiot is really playing them??
After all I recall one of them saying something like, he's skills at be able at solving & being able to plan things so far ahead very quickly was supposedly becoming 10x more advanced than what they were & that if compared to others, Sherlock Holmes & few others (can't remember their names) would have to look for new jobs & that his was the only complement that the sister who which again was the one said this, (or at least somewhere along the lines, not word per word) had ever given towards him..
With that said, couldn't that mean thats it's really been him who's been playing them, slowly but surely this whole time, as he proceeds to play the real idiots who think that they're still playing the "idiot" who's just playing the role!?
Like for example; couldn't he have played sara by setting her up knowing that he was bugged during that recording (but probably just didn't know eaxactly from whom or did, or just had a hunch from where who it is that they may work for his mom & older sister) & chose to perhaps say those things or right things from after asking Dr. Hyde the question about that hyperbolic frozen time chamber thingy or whatever), & from his own old natural instinct having just kicked in a little bit of him knowing the way that which sara would react (from her haven been so inseparably close) to him making seem as though he was still going to follow thru with his plan of eliminating himself from the picture from by either him leaving or freezing himself, in order to get her to give him the reaction & information that he wanted or just maybe only needed from his mom & sister..
& remember, all of this is from out of my own separate speculation (just like everyone else's) of what I can gather from the story thus far. Since we all clearly & definitively don't know the answer to all of our own speculations just yet, from the obvious fact of the story still not may for all we know, be even close to being finish..
This forum feels like those youtube comments that take Family Guy funny moments compilations way too seriously.

Looks like v0.40.1 is out and adds a little extra along with the fixes.
Changelog:
1 - Many users reported serious memory issues, including computer crashes — and I experienced it myself afterwards! This was due to the Ren'Py version 7.8.7 used to build v0.40. I was forced to recompile the game using Ren'Py 7.6.3 (the same version used for Frozen Past v0.38), and this issue is now resolved!
HOWEVER! Saves made with v0.40 will not work with v0.40.1! My apologies for the inconvenience.
2 - Some of you also reported problems progressing through the game when certain romances are rejected. That’s not supposed to happen, since Frozen Past allows you to block each romance and choose your preferred sexual practices. I worked hard to fix this, and after extensive testing, it should now be 100% resolved!
3 - I also took the opportunity to correct numerous bugs and some typos — especially in French (my native language... how embarrassing).
4 - And finally, I added a little shower fantasy scene for Ms. Token — as a way to make up for the inconvenience.
