So at this stage this is still basically a character editor, right? There's no actual "visual novel" aspects like the last game?

For now, there's nothing else but character creation.
To it's credit, the character creation is incredibly in-depth and you can pose the character even more specifically than in the first game, with the exception of appendages which either don't have posing tools or I just haven't figured out how to pose them yet.
All it's missing that the previous game had is the ability to have more than one character and do animations.

New features
Fur authoring/shader

We're proud to present our new fur authoring and shading system. Go to the "FurAuthoring" object to enable fur on characters and parts.

Comes with extensive editing options.

Tips/Info

  • Adjust tiling in the sub-objects of FurAuthoring to control the density of the fur.
  • Tessellation does not work with fur shading (will be disabled for the character/part that uses fur shading).
  • Fur shader uses PBR lighting model in deferred pass, and will blend better with objects using PBR rather than SSS.
    • (You can use a SSS layer to disable SSS in certain parts of your model when you're using the SSS shader.)
  • Fur has a custom smoothness slider, but will blend better if using smoothness from texture.
    • However, if body/part has high smoothness, fur will look strange.
    • The best option is to reduce smoothness in texture builder, but you can use smoothness slider as an option to that.
  • It's highly advised to enable Preferences > Graphics > JitteredDithering with fur shading.
  • Each sub mesh being rendered with fur shader will cause an additional draw call.
  • Fur shader does not batch between objects.
Tiling/Offset

You can now tile and offset normal/occlusion layers and mask textures.

Additions

  • Preferences
    • Added "Fur enabled" to graphics settings.
    • Added "Fur shells" to graphics settings.
Improvements

  • When adjusting an Integer property by using mouse drag, the scroll view of the properties panel will no longer scroll.
  • Set brush size with keyboard shortcut ("R" key) during appendage authoring.
  • Fluff appendages will now blend with body using jittered dithering (as opposed to just dithering).
Updates

  • Female fox template has been updated with fur shading.
Changes

  • Renamed "Strength" to "Value" in appendage sculpting tool properties panel.
    • (We feel it's a better description of what the property represents.)
    • ("Value" (old strength) is the equivalent of "Weight" in Blender weight painting mode, and "Opacity" is the equivalent of "Strength" (in Blender).)
Bug fixes

  • Fixed an issue with music player stopping after 1 song if sky temple or celestial was the default level.
  • Fixed an issue where vagina would twitch when adjusting anus options.
  • Fixed an issue where nipple would not load properly.
  • Fixed an issue where character file could be wrongly assigned another file's derivative ID upon load.
    • (Unfortunately, this means some files have been "tainted" and cannot have their derivative ID removed.)
  • Fixed an issue where it was not possible to export mesh if there was an empty appendage group present.
  • Fixed an issue in analyzer which caused draw calls to be computed incorrectly.
  • Fixed an issue where HSL layer wouldn't use mask.
  • Fixed an issue where mask property would not be visible for layer filters after loading a character if "UseMask" was checked.

Yes, creating seems interesting and complex, but I would like to see a tutorial on character creation because I do not know what character creation is all about, how to start, how to create some additions to the character or make a color.

I have a bad feeling that VN means there will not be animations, just POSING!!!

What is FurryVNE?

FurryVNE stands for Furry Visual Noveling Editor. It's essentially the "real" name for the project that was known as YL2. I'd like to think of it as YL2 being the internal project name and FurryVNE being the actual product name. So it's nothing new really - just a name change.

------------
Visual noveling ? So does that mean that we will be able to create not not just sex interactions like in YL1, but whole VNs with storyline and branching paths in "YL2" ?

dev answer :
The focus will still be on sex interactions, but the idea is indeed to introduce story creation aspects as well with speech bubbles and narration (in addition to being able to change poses etc).

It will probably be possible to branch stories, but how that will work exactly is a bit too early to say right now. We need to experiment with different workflows and ideas. The focus (again) is sex scenes, so we don't want that to take a back seat to make branching easier. Rather, it should be the other way around. Hopefully we can make both things play nicely without adding a lot of complexity.

them ? nah, it's a serious and passionate team nothing like "Fek"
and the story side is the last thing they will add, or if they add it sooner they will just make the basis
