TessaXYZ For the top left and middle left regions I did the opposite subregrions from this solution. Why is that counted as incorrect when it doesn't seem to break any of the rules?
Doing that would create 2x2 non-highlighted regions, which breaks a rule

I hate to sound like a broken record, but it's not really locked. I'm giving the answers away to everyone who wants to use them to skip doing the puzzle themselves.

As to why I'm developing an erotic/puzzle game... well, the best things in life come in pairs! But really, it's something I'm passionate about, and I'm open to suggestions about how to improve this for everyone. Would you be less upset if I provided the hints and solutions in-game?
I hope you won't let these comments discourage you, TessaXYZ. I, for one, genuinely enjoyed the brainteasers so far. They are neither so simple it's pointless, nor so hard it's frustrating. They strike a good balance difficulty-wise, and they are technically well-executed. It's rare to see non-janky mini-games in Ren'Py.

However, I'll admit they break the pacing a bit. I like the idea of having them for daydreaming to "unlock" extra/optional content that has no real impact on the story. For instance, the first puzzle about her daydreaming about the girl doing gym was great in that regard. But having them right during (or between) the two bathroom masturbation sessions was slightly weird: Not only the pacing takes a hit, but it also isn't exactly optional content - it felt like integral part of the story, not just a daydreaming.

That said, I still enjoyed the puzzle, and I hope you will continue making them. It's fresh and distinguish the game from others. Also, models are greats (even though I'm more in the "I like my futas without balls" camp) and story seems interesting enough so far. Keep up the good work, and thanks for the release!

That bedtime cliffhanger had me shouting out "NO!" where it ended though, lol!

You will need to install the optional incest patch for that to apply

I won't lie, I wasn't expecting this much backlash to the puzzles given that I provided hints and solutions from the very beginning. But you're right on the money about my intent. Some games have brainless puzzles that don't challenge the player. IMO these actually don't serve a purpose. But here I'm providing an optional challenge for players like you to enjoy. So I'm glad you like them!

About whether they are integral to the story... I tried to make sure that the daydream scenes don't actually feed back into the story at this time. The later two puzzle types definitely will, so I take your point about placing them in points where they don't break up the pacing of erotic scenes.

And as I've mentioned elsewhere, the minor update I'm releasing tomorrow-ish will add a select screen for players to decide if they want to play the puzzles or not to unlock bonus scenes. I hope that makes everyone happy!

Lastly... "I like my futas without balls"...

And yeah, we never want these VNs to reach the end of their update... But there's lots more to come!

These puzzles really need some QoL changes. The rules sound complicated but are easy enough to understand after the tut but the problem is I can't see shit with a million Xs on the screen and only black lines.

1. Make each square 2 states only instead of 3. It's very redundant right now and the X really does not help, it does the opposite.
2. Region lines need to be white or something more visible.
3. Dotted lines need to be full and with a different color.
4. Add a way to change the state of a subregion with 1 click.

They are kinda fun to solve but the experience is painful without the stuff above. Also it'd be nice to have the option to just disable them at the start. It is certainly better and with more thought put into it than the sandbox crap that many games have though.

I appreciate your feedback! The thing with having two blank states ("Blank" and "X" is that it allows you to mark which ones you're sure are non-highlighted with an X, while leaving those you're unsure of completely blank. If I made those one state, I'm 100% sure people would complain that they had no way to tell which ones are definitely non-highlighted and which ones are still up for grabs.

Regarding changing the state of a subregion with one click... I'm looking into it, but struggled to get the code working right for it. On top of that, the latter 2 puzzle types won't have sub-regions at all, so keeping one control scheme may be ideal. I'm still going to try getting this to work though, stay tuned!

And definitely fair game on the color scheme. I'll take a look at updating this for v0.04.

Great effort and great start for TessaXYZ. I have skimmed the thread and glad to see there has been a reaction to the puzzles.

The puzzles themselves are great and they are different and creative. But that's in a vacuum. The issue is only that it's a huge buzzkill to open up a porn game to get off and then have to spend time learning a complicated rule system for absolutely no other reason than to unlock scenes. It feels like nothing other than an irrelevant time gate, no matter how well-constructed the puzzle might be.

Dev should focus on telling a story and making a hot nsfw game. That's what people want and that's where the strength is. Beside that everything looks great, good to see more futa games and wish TessaXYZ great luck with the game, will check back for updates :)

Thank you for your kind review! About whether choices will exist in the game: Yes, BUT I'm still brainstorming ways to go about it. I have the overall story planned out at a high level and there will be multiple endings. But I haven't yet planned how to implement these endings, and whether I should be spending a significant amount of time rendering multiple scenes for a choice if it currently means I have to sacrifice that time away from moving the overall story forward. My short term plan is to finish Chapter 1 as-is (no choices), but to start thinking about how to improve my workflow so I can offer meaningful choices that impact the story. This is a slippery-slope, of course: Every choice can lead to a multiplying of later effects that would make it harder for me to keep the story cohesive.

That's a long-winded way of saying I don't intend to keep this choice-free, but I still have nothing concrete about how I'll implement a system that doesn't detract from telling a good story.
