Happy with Tessa's announcement here in this forum. However, will remain skeptical but hopeful until I see an actual update, especially since the patreon still hasn't been updated.

It's odd that they haven't posted that on their Patreon. Why wouldn't the real Tess put an update there?

That was one of the first things I noticed. Usually it's the opposite where they post on Patreon first and here last or not at all.
Coupled that with going right back to being silent again. Especially it being almost a year of silence only to go right back into silence.
It's defiantly one way to kill your credibility. Sure people will say "Let her cook" That's great and all but not good when it comes to maintaining a healthy fanbase/business/hobby.

Guys and gals, I loved this game, it had potential to be right there with Having a Hard Time and Eruption Eminent, perhaps even better than both combined, but it's over, clearly, I don't resent or hold against the developer because only she knows what's going on with her life, if anything, I’m thankful for the brief and pleasant entertainment, but realistically, we should move on, I did.

Could it be that, they simply are not sure about officially releasing a statement that they are working on it? Since it's very likely this project is at the bottom of their priority but it's still there. Hence, they wouldn't want patreon fans to sponsor them and provide no product, because they simple cannot commit their time at the moment and the dev may have an issue with such poor ethical practices.
Unless you're speculating their account got hacked and posted a 'fake' post. Given, the same art-style that may have been not easy to replicate.
I am not anticipating anything, but there is a chance they return to this project when their time permits.

I do not believe the account was hacked at all. I do believe they are going about this the wrong way though. Their Patreon supporters should come first not some pirate site they may not even be aware of.
I too am not anticipating anything at this point in time. If something were to show up then so be it, a bonus if you will.

The dev broke their silence in December and said they are still slowly working on it, so there is some hope.

Yeah but nothing since then. She didn't even appear on her own Discord even once.
So forgive me if I am starting to lose faith in this being resuscitated ever again.
