He missed the route choice at the beginning, and thus only saw half the game. Honestly wouldn't hurt if the dev made the route choice extremely obvious and detailed. I kind of remember being a bit confused about the routes on my first playthrough. Dev calls one a NTR route, which made me wary, but it was actually just netori.
