What's the point in building muscles in the bym? Doesn't seem like it does anything different than simply burning calories. And looking in game/images/Sprites/Character hints that it really doesn't. There are only skinny<->fat sprites.

Your question includes the answer. (No point in building muscles. None, zero, zilch, nil, denada and so on)
Besides the game here is a special, one of a kind case, wonderfully different one that doesn't necessarily follow any deductive logic where one can safely state something based on known premises/facts. No no no! IMHOP it is not good at all to expect that things that happen in hundreds other games, like muscle building, would ever need to happen within this one, even if players are kinda strongly let to believe something like that.
I once estimated that at least a third of what is currently implemented isn't either working at all or at least not in any expected way. Please note however that I am not a game-specialist. Not even close. Also note that I am NOT saying that the mod here is a lazy shit who can't be bothered to play their own game. Why state the obvious and in addition I am certain people can self decide things from their own observations. Instead I suggest that players should be happily surprised when something in this game works along their wishes and expectations.
