Is it a VN or a sandbox?

I dont get it. It starts as a VN with awfully long intro, then gives a bit of control and takes it away the next day.

Is it gonna be like this for the whole game? Just linear days passing by, scripted events happening by themselves, and rarely game gives a chance to increase stats by +1?

Honestly, I hate shit like this, when I have no control for half an hour and forced to just keep reading the story.
If I wanted to just read I'd open manga.

Lynx goes to school.
Even though she calls him kid at the start, they are about the same age if not she is slightly older.

This is mentioned in this update that she goes on a school trip, when this came down they would be in school.
Most of the girls know he heals fast aside from Amanda and Rei, who have seen he needs time and has prolonged injury, shown in earlier moments, "Rei watching his forehead and Amanda with his back wound and leg being stabbed, touching it the next day"

To them hes a hero who beats monsters up and did it at the start with no suit and still kicked some ass.... Before Winter.

The main character wasn't depowered he was just almost dead.
I dont know why people found this so hard, maybe its because I had Gingers ability.
Also remember that Adam holds people in place, that the M.C. cannot fight back against.

which is weird because the mc could still use wind in multiple occasions where he was immobilized, in that fight he doesnt use it at all, just strenght, also that all the genex users can get punched x3, x6, and stand up like nothing, after you see the mc defeat in one punch a bunch of others, it just looks like reverse plot armor.

My only gripe is with the last day of part 1, everything else felt cohesive but the last day felt rushed.

That did get me too. My MC has wind skill highest, so I was hoping he'd blow the henchmen watching the girls away while Adam was distracted with him.

Well, this game is heavily focused on time managment, as you have only two actions per day, and only 68 days to actually play. If you make a mistake early on, for example training health, evasion or defense, it may and certainly will bite you in the ass later. But almost everything is scripted, so with each replay you'll get knowledge of what is happening on which day, even if it may look to you somewhat random at first. So you need to plan long term and be prepared, or at least well rested if you wish to play the game right way.

But if you wish to ease your suffering and play only for girls and watching scenes you may want to play on easy and disable fights, because fighting early on is pretty hard.

So important fights have a script because of this you dont think raising stats is important.
Gonna be hard to fight Winter in that second fight VN style. She can hit VERY hard specially with low defense.
Without putting into energy that would be tricky.
Later battles if you dont raise defense, you're gonna die.
Winter's third battle you'd just be fucked.

The scripted battles do get stronger.
If you think raising them doesn't matter, you will lose when you catch up to Karma.
VN based battles make you go through minions to get to the boss.
Having no energy will screw you, having no health means your dead.
The mobs in front of her will kill you out right.
They are pretty easy with lvl 30 stats but if you think you can live through that with minimal stats, good luck.

For me easing my suffering means completely diffent thing. What you just described is the opposite: throw away any gameplay and keep reading.

Reading is the hardest and boring part in games for me. I've read alot of good fantasy and sci-fi books, I have to dig through hundreds of titles to find something interesting for myself. And stories in VNs are mostly boring and predictable, while filled with extra empty chatter.

For example, I'd be super happy to read the story if it was something like Overlord, FFF class trash hero, Everyone likes big chests. These books were enetertaining by themselves, without any gameplay.

I'm on day 10 right now. And reading this VN is a high price to pay for a few sex scenes.

Many sandbox elements in porn games are not important choices between mutually exclusive things, they are an abundance of clicking as you wander from kitchen > hallway > street > store > buy store item > street > girl's house. And then the very first thing that happens in game is that a LI is forced on you and you fuck her and MC loses hes virginity to a bitch you dont know anything about as the player? whaaaaat theee fuuuck? seriously?
I know some will say its due to the drugs and shit but that dosent change that its forced sex and you dont deside fuck all if you want to do or dont do her.

Is that the only time of will this be a common thing doing the game? just asking since i really dislike forced LIs/sex scenes with someone i might not want to be with at all...

In the first parts of the game "Love Interest" isn't cant be applied.
Nothing is actually forced but it is sex friendly.

It's easy to have issues with characters since some of them are written with lacking content or down right with the feel of spaghetti being tossed at a wall. Lets see what sticks.


I would argue the real L.I. of people doesn't start till the end of this update.
When you pick a girl at the end.
Since nothing really screams pick someone.
Even at that the length of the game still hasn't gone to far.

With that being said.
We were told that there are 3 Love interests who aren't school girls.
I remember 2 of the 3, Whisper and Ginger. Too lazy to look back currently. (I think the last was Karma?)

Controlled Love Interest is easy.
You are able to avoid people, turn them down.
There is no need to pick the best increases feeling options.

As for forced stuff, I'm not sure about Winter at the second encounter with her because I think if you refuse sex with her Eric will take over your mind and you screw her, however the wind spell is priceless and I would argue it being a requirement to take from Winter.


You get to pick who you kiss first , for the most part you can be careful who you fuck.
However much later do you get forced into sex when a woman's hair forces you into it.
You also get to pick which kinda path you want to go down.

This is a game you have to take lightly.

I dont like excessive clicking too. Thats why I dont play RPGM games.

Sandbox has different features, that are very important for me:
1 - Sandbox game always gives second chance. If I had not enough stats to progress with some girl, I can take my time training or earning money and then start the same conversation again.
2 - I like to pursue some LI's while ignoring others, that I'm not interested in. All it takes is getting to know her daily routine and visiting places where she goes. Work, cinema, home etc..
3 - I like to replay sex scenes using game mechanics instead of just clicking a gallery. For example, If I liked some scene in the bar, I can walk to that bar when LI is there and repeat the scene. Or If I liked a scene with her in the bathroom I wait for her to get there and walk in.

Genex is not a sandbox in my opinion. its a VN with choices, there is no freedom, just branch selection. Even training your stats is just branch selection, its not grind. I cant grind my stats to maximum and then continue the main quest, being sure that I've prepared to fight any enemies.

I mostly play it for the story, but i enjoy the sex parts as well, but belive it or not, not everyone is into everything and every girl and like i said i just dislike forced LIs, i like to have a choice in who to fuck or not since i hate some things like huge saggy tits its a big turn-off to me personaly so i wouldent enjoy watching that.
And if i was just here for the sex i would go to a porn site instend and not waste time reading a story.

Alot of VN has choices when it comes to relationships and fucking, where you have 100% controle over it and those are the ones i love to play and this is what was promissed if you read dev notes, so is it really that hard for you to understand the supprise someone can get when some one is forced on you? i mean really? its not a non issue if the description of game isent true.

It was a very simple question, i just wanted to know if it was a one time thing or a common thing in the game and the only way to find out without playing is asking in here to figure out if i should drop it or not.

Starting to see this trend too. Does he grow out of it ? least on the anti or Vigilante ?
