Just finished playing and was really impressed by it, the characters and the story are interesting enough and I enjoyed the gameplay and how well the game run, but of course, as most good games, it seems to have been abandoned, and right at the moment where the story would really shake it up. Too bad really, hope the game can make a comeback, from what we could have seen from this first part the game had a lot of potential, the devs are really talented.

I hadn't checked until just now, but apparently just over a month ago the dev said the following when asked:

Obviously that doesn't get the Abandoned prefix removed from this thread, but there might yet be some hope. Time will tell.

It's not abandoned, the site puts the abandoned tag without confirmation with the actual creators. He has been posting messages on his Discord in reply to people asking about whether it was abandoned not.

"We were planning to "show when it is done" since we don't have any news that isn't spoilers. But we are getting too many requests from players. With your last request, I decided to show our dev process and some spoilers so players can glimpse the changes and where we are going with this. Sorry for this tedious wait. I will try to avoid major plot spoilers in this future logs, but some minor things are unavoidable at this point" - Layman Bot

The quoted message above was from 5 days ago, and he has been updating us since the beginning of 2024. The game was on-hold before January 2024 according to one of his replies.

I'm the guy the quoted messages was directed towards and after writing it in dc I got this message from the co-creator

So I would say it's 50/50 chance it's dead, which would be a real shame but it's very much possible

Layman was a good guy to work with, and Geb is still great, but Layman has pretty much been MIA for weeks/months now. I have no idea what happened, I have my suspicions but that's it. Sorry, I wish I had better news, but Geb and I haven't heard anything even though scripts and art have been completed.

It’s his game. I’m just a volunteer who helped with localizing the dialog. I’d love to finish the game but it isn’t the sort of thing where he can be removed. Layman is a good guy, I just hope something bad didn’t happen to him.

Maybe the game would still be worked on if the dev had localization volunteers who knew how to write 'dialogue'.

Being seen and working on the game is 2 different things.
A lot of the dev's who have abandoned there games are still lurking on here many years later.
