Renpy crash when starting battle (bandits) after deployment on battlemap.
Hmm, they shouldn't have any effects in the first place
Does the issue appear again if the save is loaded? If so, would you mind sending me the save file so i can check?

P.S. did a thorough check on a new save and everything seems to be doing alright. I get a feeling it's a leftover data from the save borking up somewhere along the way. Will be hard to reproduce without the save

I have made a quick fix, and updated the gdrive build

Going to investigate where the issue comes from to make a proper fix
It's not necessary to play them in the order of release, I made a system so the changes get picked up even if the oldest one is loaded

It's all good, figured out what data had an issue, now to check the algorithms to see how it got there

Good update, it's nice to see Kreios try to work out the differences/insecurities of his Roses, and his growth of handling nobility matters. My only concern is when was Kreios stated as being sterile? I was wondering why my boy could just continuously creampie his harem without worry of impregnation. As a man with an impregnation fetish, I am disappointed. Lol

It was actually mentioned prior to this update event already. I made the decision to not include it very early in the development when i was figuring how to make a narrative. There was a moment where i was considering having some domination aspects but as soon as it got to making those scenes it started to fall flat. I like exploring fantasies while making the game and i try to find out what emotions are involved. I am generally okay when it comes to domination and some torture, unless it's way too much, but damn did i feel sick to my stomach while trying to reproduce those feelings
Similar thing happened with the impregnation, then there were some technical issues on top of moral ones
I can see how it can be disappointing, i, for one, would love to see some of the characters bearing Kreios's child. It does have quite an emotional impact, cannot deny that. But it's not my fetish and it would interfere with the process. Hopefully, me being able to focus on things i like will make the game more appealing

So it says story driven game.. But starting the game, it throws me in a mission with a bunch of girls I have no idea who they're are and why they are serving the MC (and their apparently all already fucking?). I have no idea what the MC is or what he is fighting for. As well hes shirtless wearing some weird tattoos? A new fashion statement ??. And the MC talking shit how weak the enemy was, but hes actually about to die until I got Heimdall to heal him... Dude your weak too!!! He was down to 3 hp. It be super embarrassing how he was talking all that shit, and If didnt heal him in time, then he'd die in front of them.

Is there going to be a proper introductory to the game, or are we just thrown straight in ? Expected to know whats going on

I need more belladona
Me too

Why does the MC look like a twink
That would be because of me

I don't like when a game waterboards you with long introductions and walls of text that you are going to forget the next minute. The story gets delivered by bits and pieces here and there, mostly organically. Some may like the former, some the latter, that's just the way i chose it to be

No problem. I enjoy the game either way. I was just extremely shocked by the comment made by Cassandra regarding Kreios' swimmers being active or not, and I believed I wasn't paying attention to the story as much as I thought I was. Lol. However, Cassandra was definitely one of the LIs I was very curious about how she would be as a mother. The same goes for Raven, due to her backstory and personality.

The time it was mentioned first btw was during the Frienemy scene with Desiree after your trial.

That's mostly on me. A lot of folks don't expect a somewhat deeper story (at least i think it is) and don't want gameplay. As was mentioned here previously, you are kept in the dark about many things, so you're not exactly expecting that story at first. Then a lot of players are briefly clicking through, as it's usually done with most of porn games. I never liked games that are too formulaic. I want some things to come as a surprise, i want players coming back to the older scenes when they get a better grasp on the situation over time, i like leaving hints that might be hard to pick up. I want it to be somewhat unique, and it feels like it to me. I think i kind of set up myself for failure in this regard, as it takes some time to get into (and the engine of choice doesn't help much, as people look for novels primarily when looking at ren'py games) and many players will tune out due to these reasons. I'm more than fine with it being niche, i think we need more games that steer from what is considered normal, that's what made me interested in the games in the first place, while nowadays the big players in the game industry are pumping out safe clones that feel so stale and boring

I like your writing. The world-building is good.

I usually really like these kind of kingdom/resource management games set on a world map but I can't say this really scratches that itch very well. That part of the game feels more like you're tech-demo-ing features rather than meaningfully integrating them. I suspect part of that can be put down to the work-in-progress status of the game, but that still makes it a bit underwhelming to play it as it currently stands.

The fights/military units are a bit more polished than the world management but it's still too primitive to be very fun and it quickly becomes repetitive. I'm at the point where I would appreciate being able to skip battles.

I guess at the end of the day, I don't feel very empowered as the player. I'm playing as the ruler, but I don't get to influence what Kreios does or thinks. I have an army but I don't get to choose my battles. I don't get to choose when I'm merciful or when I'm vengeful, when I'll suffer an insult or not stand for it, when I choose to make friends with dubious characters or keep them at a distance. All of those things happen at Kreios whim, which can be pretty frustrating when, for example, he has a ''maybe Stalin is just misunderstood'' moment when he visits the slave state and makes friends with sadists.

I think you simply dislike kinetic novels or linear games in general, I love them so I can't say I understand you.
The game might look a bit basic but it's evolving quickly so trust the dev a bit, he delivers.

Yeah, when I started i had a much grander vision in mind, but previous to this i had worked in group projects, so i grossly miscalculated what i can achieve in any meaningful amount of time. That and the fact that's it's the first time that i actually had to code, work on ui, visuals and a lot more. All the while learning as I go, so yeah, the game is well below my own expectations
And as for the second part, about being able to influence things, I had a choice to make, either to make it a more open ended, choose your adventure type of game, or write a semi decent single story. I had experimented with having choices but it fell flat right away. Any meaningful decision would heavily restrict me to intertwine the narrative together, or i would have to isolate specific encounters to their own bubble, that would not be affected by anything else. That did feel wrong as well
It's more of a interactive book than sandbox type of a game. It's far from perfect and the amount of free time i have to work on it is quite limited, thus restricting me even further, i have a whole list of things i want to add or improve, but everything is going to take time

I wouldn't say I dislike them as I have enjoyed many before. Rather I think that the bar is higher for those types of games because of your inability as the player to mitigate the parts you don't like or that hurt your enjoyment. If I don't like a character or a type of content in a choice-based game, but I'm able to opt out of or shape that content, it means I can still enjoy the game without holding that element against the whole. If you forcefeed me them, my dislike of that element risks extending to the game itself.

Choice-based and kinetic both have their pros and cons. You give freedom to the writer and restrict the player, or the player has some level of freedom and the writer must work with the constraints that that entails. I can appreciate both styles but I value my freedom more than the author's. If an author believes they can only build a compelling narrative without any constraints or concessions to the player/reader then I'll trust them that this is the way. I wouldn't want to play a game that the dev didn't want to make.

But if the narrative isn't that much more compelling than what you find in a choice-based game, I start to feel like I gave up my freedom for nothing. It's a bit like if you went to a restaurant but there's no menu. Everyone gets the chef's special. I won't complain if the dish is a 9 or 10 out of ten. But if the dish is average fare, I'm gonna think that that the chef should get over themselves and let me pick what I'm gonna eat.
