It is both not over and also currently tied between Votaries and Experiments.
(Psst. Bro! Tiebreaker vote! Although it probably won't update mindfuckers directly, this is the chance for some similarly weird shit!) Okay but for real, I shouldn't be pushing you to spend money to vote for my choice on a poll I can't spend money to vote on, so don't take me too seriously. Although maybe I should be pushing you to support the dev where I can't? But in a less manipulative way.

Also, I imagine if the vote is that close, the second place option might get a few bones thrown their way. Unless all options are gonna need some sort of groundwork to be laid before being implemented properly, like an introductory story or something.

If anything I should probably add something to FORCE people to open the event list during the tutorial so they don't miss that it's there.
In that case, simply include something loudly pointing out the existence of the auto-play option, and it should all be good. I hope. It's just that this is the second (or was it third?) time I've seen someone mention not seeing it or thinking it doesn't exist, and for everyone who points out the supposed absence of something, you should assume *at least* ten people who took its absence for granted and never brought it up.

Tweet time! I think I'm gonna go back to posting the pictures directly for new art posts, so people who skim past my walls of text can still see the teasers.

Spell loot! In... not-scroll form? Is the Witch just stuffing physical spells into treasure chests? Or will she finally be moving into camp with us (or inexplicably showing up there between floors) and these are coupons that say "I.O.U. 1 Free Spell"?

Which reminds me, this would probably be too much trouble for a little easter egg, but it'd be funny if there was a chance for the Witch to spawn twice on the same floor, with an event triggering if you have a knight in both tiles at once. "What, you're fine with me inexplicably being on every floor before you get there, but being in two places at once is too confusing for you?" (This joke may or may not be stolen from The Messenger. "This is the Tower of Time. It arguably makes *more* sense for me to be here twice than in any given other place once.")

The sequel to "Get It Together!"

Ma'am, your clothes seem to be missing...

This reminds me, I wonder if the paradoxical nature of the Nature's Reclamation curse and its loose association with Melos will ever be acknowledged? As a goddess of knowledge and wisdom, "Reject modernity, return to plante" doesn't seem to fit her. Then again, maybe an antisocial hermit living in the woods is closer to her "primal aspect", the same way corruption and rape (and tackiness) are an unrefined primal aspect of a potential goddess of expression and desire. Or maybe not every plant is associated with religious iconography. /shrug

Those thorns, though. Ouch.

Half-naked women in boxes? I didn't know this was a western-themed space adventure. [Insert "I'd have two nickels" meme here.] Or maybe this is Looney Tunes, and she's gonna just loudly kiss the knight before jumping back into her hole. "MMMMMMWAH!"

...Actually, what are the implications of demons in the dungeon? It seems most of the monsters we've encountered are getting excuses in the lore, with beast-kin being linked to the scout beasts and werebat (and maybe the Drider, although she might be her own thing as the common thread - no pun intended - between spider-themed threats), and stuff like the mindfucker and shocking orb probably getting tied to heretical experiments. But are demons connected to Eschahn's followers, or are they another independent faction that loves to dwell in dungeons, with the most lewd ones being welcomed by Eschahn? On that note, it would be funny if there was an awkward Succubus Nun who's trying her best to do this whole "religion" thing as thanks to Eschahn for welcoming a demon as her follower, but just doesn't quite get it, and periodically lapses into her typical demonic tendencies. Then she apologizes for being improper, but gets confused again because isn't a follower of Eschahn supposed to be improper?

Some important tidbits about the current supporter poll:
A) It's still open.
B) Whichever option is chosen is not going to be in this coming update (which is coming preeeeeetty soon), but the one after that.
C) It is currently TIED between Eschahn's Votaries and the Experiments!
tfw I could be the tiebreaker vote, but I also have OCD, and letting FOMO influence how I spend money would set a very bad precedent. (Plus the whole "not a lot of money in the first place" thing.) Fingers crossed.

Don't tell me you're feeling nervous now...

I'm not nervous so much as concerned that you seem to be melting into a puddle like the Wicked Witch of the West, and you don't seem to mind.

It is both not over and also currently tied between Votaries and Experiments. The next update (which is not tooooo far away) actually isn't planned to contain whatever content from wins the poll, so it's not going to close until after Alpha-9 comes out.
So, weeks, months, years?

So somehow it took until now for me to put together the fact that we can now (in the next update) inflict status ailments on the monsters. For some reason I took that for granted when I saw the Marked status. I'm guessing it uses the same framework that's being added for the new modifiers, although hopefully it still works with timed statuses, and of course having some monsters being immune to some statuses. Poison is a classic ailment that often gets underutilized thanks to the mechanics of most other games, but could actually be super useful in this game while also encouraging a very different type of play style. You could synergize it with skills that allow you to leave a monster room without them getting a free attack, allowing a knight to multi-task on multiple monsters while letting poison do its work.

But more importantly, there can potentially be a trance-related status we can inflict on (certain) monsters and I will be very disappointed if this doesn't become a thing. It could be a new spell that alters Scry to inflict Trance on a monster in the target tile, and there can be unique events with certain monsters when they're entranced (though perhaps with some it might only occur if the knight's lust or corruption are high enough, or if they have the Suggestive curse). Obviously it's too much to expect a trance scene with every compatible monster (but maybe not too much to hope?), and plenty of monsters should be immune (you can't hypnotize a dildo... right?), but this at least means there's hope for us to hypnotize the maids! And maybe certain enemies, e.g. the fallen knights, could have an alternate defeat condition triggered by following a sequence of trance events. Of course, it won't always be to our advantage, as some of these events could just be unique attacks in their own right, e.g. the Combat Maid essentially turning into an automated killbot. In fact, maybe the status won't even have its own default benefit, and will solely be a trigger for unlocking certain "attacks" on compatible enemies (or temporarily locking them into those "attacks"), with the pros and cons of that varying based on the target. The imp might fall in love with the knight (heart eyes!) and start making more romantic moves, shield maid could lock herself into an impenetrable defensive stance, and of course there would be a werecat who turns into an adorable little kitty. And there would probably be some enemy who turns it right back on the knights, hypnotizing them into joining them in an obedience mantra or something. And the knights might get a very uneasy feeling when the hypnotized doppelganger shadow shows them what they'd look like as obedient slaves to the Inquisitor...

...Okay, I'm getting way ahead of myself on this, but I want it so bad. There aren't nearly enough (or any?) games that let you hypnotize your enemies, especially when you're "the good guys" and your enemies are sexy dungeon monsters (as opposed to games where you play as the villain and go around corrupting heroes).

Edit: The angry maid's trance scene should just be therapy. She abruptly starts talking about her feelings, and the knight awkwardly tries to give her advice on how to deal with her rage issues.

Go team!

So, that seems to be some kind of magical furnace producing... orbs? What reason would orbs have to-- Oh no... Lucette, get out of there! You have too much charge!

Oof. They did the same thing at my place, same day. Supposedly they knocked on the door first, but why wouldn't they use the doorbell?

Assuming you're not just exaggerating the changelog issue for comedic effect, there's probably some program out there that lets you compare two text files to see what's different about them. (That assumes you save copies of each version of the code, but I would think that's good coding practice. Or maybe that's considered completely insane, I don't know.)

Time for another version update! This one has a new system so that monsters and traps can have status effects, greatly increasing the possibilities for different interactions!
Let's goooooo!

Edit: Uh, shit. Right off the bat, the game crashes when I start a new game. After selecting my spells, as the dungeon loads up. And I heard some buff sound effects before it crashed, too. Possibly related to the new "load the sound effects ahead of time" thing?

Edit 2: Okay, wait, this doesn't happen when I don't choose any spells. So something I chose... probably Advert. But I also took Charged, Quintessence, Siphon, and Contractor. ...Yeah, it's Advert. Picked everything but that one on this run, and there was no sound effect or crash. But two crashes from trying to use advert.

Yeah it's Advert. It looks like it doesn't like there not being a Witch's Den (was this the case before? I'm second guessing myself). It works fine on other floors, so uh... Just don't have the spell active for floors 1, 2, and 9 I guess? I'm not putting up another build for it unless there's something even more game breaking to fix with it.

Definitely was not crashy before. I always took it when starting out, so this is something new.

Hmm... Flower Girl's encounter criteria is supposed to be 6 pollen flowers *ever* and not just this run, right? Because I'm pretty sure Doppelganger Shadow's is for the current run, but Flower Girl was the first monster I encountered this run, despite being phrased similarly.

It seems her "take root" effect isn't working right either, as it's supposed to only happen below 50% health, but I'm pretty sure I just saw her do it at full health.

...Did it always say "Preplexing", or did changing around the status system require you to re-type the names? In any case, I'm not sure how one plexes, let alone pre-plexing.

There's also the bane of my classic Roguelike days, the "multiplies and spreads to other tiles" monsters.
Swarming.png

Oh shit oh fuck

The "triggers once and then disappears" type of traps probably shouldn't be able to spawn with modifiers like Turbocharged.

The "Shatter" skill says that it requires "either" a Marked skill "and" a Strength stat of 15 "and" a Vitality stat of 15. I'd assume that's just a grammatical error, except those stat requirements are *very* steep. Everybody starts with 12 vitality, Raine is the only one with 15 strength, and the others have either 12 or 10 starting strength.

Okay, I definitely miss the old font in some of the menus, but it's particularly problematic in the combat log thanks to its increased size pushing some text onto a second line. Especially with center-aligned text.

Raine somehow started masturbating to an aphrodisiac gas trap despite having Chastity.

And that's the run. Still missing one new monster and trap, two (three? The name "Pathfinder's Zeal" sounds familiar but it was new to my list) skills, and the new spells though.

I haven't gotten any crashes but I DID notice some kind of bug that made the Counterattacking sound effect+gfx to play every turn even though nobody was in that monster room (possibly something to do with not factoring in forced teleportation from that one spell?).

More pertinently, I discovered that if you Strip your allies while they're under Deep Sleep, you get a... better look at them.

Hmm... I think the knights no longer do that thing where they stop to rest if their exhaustion gets too high. Or does that only apply when you give them the "Rest" command?

And now that I'm paying attention to that, it seems Elli isn't gaining any exhaustion from walking around while not Well Rested, even though she has no active statuses and her only skills are Grace, Stealthy, Shroud, and Finish Line. But I haven't found the stairs yet on this floor. Maybe something's causing that aspect of Finish Line to work even when it hasn't activated yet?

SK_CarryOn.png

...Goddammit. I finally found out what that mystery event that I missed a while back was, and why I couldn't figure it out. It's the rat, the rare easter egg monster. But unlike its trap counterpart, it can never show up in the research log because it can't be "killed". If you do address this, I'd suggest making it so that it stays in the log between runs even if you haven't researched it yet, because it's so rare and easy to not notice unless the game specifically alerts you to your first encounter, which won't be possible for people who already met it. I probably missed like three or four other encounters with this thing because the game never told me, so I'd have to just accidentally notice it showing up halfway through my research notes on a run where I was lucky enough to bump into it.

Alright, two full runs and save scumming the final floor 5 times, and I still haven't encountered the second new monster. Is there anything I should know about its spawn conditions?

Strange...

It seems her "take root" effect isn't working right either, as it's supposed to only happen below 50% health, but I'm pretty sure I just saw her do it at full health.
I actually meant to remove the 50% requirement and did so, but it looks like I neglected to remove it from the hint.

...Did it always say "Preplexing", or did changing around the status system require you to re-type the names? In any case, I'm not sure how one plexes, let alone pre-plexing.
It's a trap that sets up a ahead of time. Nefarious.
But yes I did have to move modifiers into a bigger 'monster status effect' document and format things differently hence the introduction of the typo.

The "Shatter" skill says that it requires "either" a Marked skill "and" a Strength stat of 15 "and" a Vitality stat of 15. I'd assume that's just a grammatical error, except those stat requirements are *very* steep. There is the grammatical error, but I honestly don't recall if the requirements are as originally intended or not.

Raine somehow started masturbating to an aphrodisiac gas trap despite having Chastity.
Before I go searching I should double check, did she happen to be Addled at the time?

I haven't gotten any crashes but I DID notice some kind of bug that made the Counterattacking sound effect+gfx to play every turn even though nobody was in that monster room (possibly something to do with not factoring in forced teleportation from that one spell?).
Teleporting from a room is a different operation than just leaving it so it might have some unintended interactions. Let me know if you find anything more to go off of.

Hmm... I think the knights no longer do that thing where they stop to rest if their exhaustion gets too high. Or does that only apply when you give them the "Rest" command?
Only while resting.

Maybe something's causing that aspect of Finish Line to work even when it hasn't activated yet?
It looks like the Finish Line skill isn't checking if you have the Finish Line status effect for that part of it. Bug.

Woah... Somebody using Carry On.

Alright, two full runs and save scumming the final floor 5 times, and I still haven't encountered the second new monster. Is there anything I should know about its spawn conditions?
That it looks like I forgot to remove the auto-fail from its spawn requirements sooooooooo yeah...

Strange...
I'm guessing that's not supposed to say "rund".

Before I go searching I should double check, did she happen to be Addled at the time?
I have no idea, but I forgot that was even a thing, so I didn't look for it. (I actually had to start up the game to go get addled just to remember what it even did.) That's probably what it was, my bad.

Edit: Although this does bring to mind the fact that a list of statuses you've encountered should probably be included in the tutorial notes for reference. Plot-wise, it would make a lot of sense for them to get their own section of research notes like curses, although I can't think of any gameplay reason for that aside from research for the sake of research. That being said, perhaps the monster and trap notes can also include a list of which modifiers you've encountered them with... The possibility of a swarming bat or congealing slime is as noteworthy as their total health and what attacks they have.

(And as long as we're on the subject of research notes features, we still need a way to view the other gender's scenes. After that scare last time, I am not gonna risk changing my appearance unless there's some way to find and write down my exact settings for my current one, so I can't check the female version of the new Elli scene - which I would probably enjoy a lot more than the current penis-focused one.)

Interesting concept, a little confused on what the gameplay loop is supposed to be.
Seems like he wants us to have control over the characters, but the ui makes manual control cumbersome, it's hard to even tell who's turn it is.
Events seem to be where the interesting stuff happens, but they're hidden between two layers of menus as if he never wants us to see them. You have to expand the sidebar to see the event log, then click on the little button next to each event to see what actually happened. Isn't that the meat of the game? being able to see what's going on w/the girls? why is it hidden away?

My suggestion would be to change the party format to all 3 girls traveling together as one unit, and you have manual control over events, kinda like playing an old school rpg.

1. Makes the focus of what's happening clear
2. Forces you to make the events/traps/monsters more interesting.

Not sure I've discovered everything this update, but I at least completed the Flower Girl scenes. Triggering the last imp-in-chest scene (40+ lust) is taking a while though.

The new Marked series of skills are alright - it may be they still need better support but I find myself not really that interested in using them yet. I've given them a go, but haven't really found too many ways of applying marked.
- The spell is of course a precision application that can guarantee a kill before a knight is hit, which is neat.
- So far only Lucette has naturally learned a skill that applies Marked reliably in exchange for a small damage decrease. However, assuming it stacks multiplicatively, the initial skillpoint is generally worse than net 0 in damage for the user because (besides Spellsword) other damage increasing skills only trigger on the first attack. I'm guessing it's more of a support skill that pairs with another knight's damage/Marked skills.
- Revenge Journal is neat conceptually, but seems to be more of a comeback mechanic that's both difficult and dangerous to use. Sure, I could add Marked to all monsters (several times even) but if a knight's already that badly hurt, I'm not sure their Working Stats will be high enough to make good use of it. Not to mention I still need to dodge traps or leave behind traps. This skill is another unfortunate victim of the snowballing difficulty, you're either winning hard and can't use it or losing hard and it doesn't make up the difference.
- quite a few Marked skills which benefit from Marked are tagged with "Applies Marked" but do not say so in their description. I'm guessing something is wrong but I'm not sure if they should apply Marked or if they've been tagged wrongly.

Counter-bonk was interesting - first exclusive secondary skill not tied to a exclusive primary skill. I also like that Lucette's beginning to be a proper anti-lust specialist, whereas before all she had was easy-access to Chastity (admittedly really good when you need it) while Raine and Elli had easy-access to Heartbreaker.

Elli scene is great. In general, I really like all the writing with Elli in it. Choosing all the different options for her scenes, you really get a sense of what she wants and why she dresses up her intentions the way she does without being told explicitly. And even if you're wrong about what those intentions are, you can be sure you won't be disappointed. To be quite frank, since that initial Elli-Lucette scene, I've been really looking forward to the plot progressing to the point where we can get futa-Elli on Lucette.

On a somewhat related note, what are your thoughts on a complicit-Elli route? One where she knows about your manipulations and helps?

Lastly, I know starting as a futa isn't canon and acquiring futa from outside the dungeon is probably impossible for the same reason, but would it be okay to separate portrait selection from sex selection? (this normally breaks my rule about maintaining themes, but I've been feeling impatient for futa stuff)
It's ok if not, I'll just keep using my imagination.

Edit: forgot to add, balance changes to Enkindle and Photosynthesis have worked out great.

it's hard to even tell who's turn it is.
there's a window you can pop out on the top right that tells you who's about to act and any status effects they're walking around with iirc

You have to expand the sidebar to see the event log, then click on the little button next to each event to see what actually happened.
There's also a setting to auto-play new events, and all (as far as I know) of the dungeon scenes are freely watchable from camp once you've seen them and researched the relevant enemy/trap. If every event played every time they triggered the game would get very repetitive and boring, fast.

For people who have had no success with blurry setting menu/interface font, the issue might stem with your system using something other than 100% scale settings.

You can fix this by fiddling with the exe's compatibility settings as detailed here:
