The patreons are the ones who asked for the 2 months wait for new patreons. His supporters don't like pirates very much.

I believe it's only first time subs that must wait but you can talk to the dev on Discord and explain your reasons he will likely understand and accept what you want.Ah yes the 30 day rule. I forgot about that.
How does it exactly work tho?
I know that if I sub now, I wont be getting the game until next month (so 2 patreons installments). I don't tend to continuously support (with 2 exceptions) but I usually sub when new updates are getting released. My question is the following:
If I sub now and immefiately cancel it ,will I still be considered a new patron when I sub for the next update release (0.6) ? Like does the system remembers you've been a sub in the past?
I have minimal interest towards Dottie so I'm not really eager to play 0.5. However I don't mind subbing now just to be able to grab 0.6 when I renew my sub (the month it gets released) without having to go through all that bs.

That's so weird. According to developers, the first two weeks are the most important for game sales and Denuvo has proven to helped their sales.
This guy's DRM is the exact opposite of how to make sales. The 1 month lockout means people aren't going to want to buy into his patreon and just wait for the month, when it's free for everyone. The guy is missing out on sales. Sure, pirates get it faster, but i'm sure he would sell more copies. in the end, it would have been an increase in profits, not loss.
edit: wait, i just realized his plan doesn't work. it locks out newcomers for 1 month before they can get a copy. 1 month... the exact same time it goes free to everyone. Why even subscribe in the first place if you get it for free in the same amount of time?

He's actually a reasonable guy and doesn't like the 2 months thing but he's trying to please the high-tier patreons and yes I agree it's very odd I have never seen anything like this before. Genuine people who won't leak are scared to sub because who would want to wait a month for something they paid for.
subs and patrons have waited almost 11 months or however long it was for an update.
I only hope every micro second of the update was worth the wait.
And still think .. an underwater hotel room run by a bikini model is the dumbest story arch ever. Why they hell would you go to a floating hotel .. why not go to the beach to sun bath????!

exactly, I mean in the end pretty much every single story line in all those games are a bit far fetched when I can say the least... not that this is super escapism here. whatever gets me to those big titties is fine with me. as long it doesn't involve chicks with dicks! but that's just me!
also, why are we still waiting? you can't tell me that all those high tier folks are this stingy when it comes to passing it on.
