You'll have to wait a month, making you have to pay twice. since your subscription will end before you can claim a copy of the game.
so your choices are
1. pay twice and wait a month for a copy
or
2. wait a month and get it for free with the public release.

It really is the worst way to go about it. It's the one way that makes subbing feel pointless.
Maybe a two week delay on your code would have been fine? Or just have the code sent to you after the month was up regardless of whether you paid for the second month?
Imagine how much money the dev is losing out on because he wants to please his Patreons. Many including me would've subbed to his Patreon to get the new release. In my case because It's a big update and I'm a fan of Dottie and It's stated that It's a lot of content with her.
I support other creators for months and usually a new update doesn't end up on here after a few days, sometimes even 1-2 weeks. By that time the Patreons have already played the new update.

what I don't understand is how as a PATREON you want to lock out the update for your little group... do they really care? or is it just a powerplay for those basement dwellers? again, I do support a DEV when I feel like their creation tickles my fancy, but usually I never pledge longer than 2 months in a row, and just like you I would have supported him for longer than just one month, but this 30 day rule and super expensive higher tiers are just not worth it imo. I just wait and play a bit later, same sh1t! (I just wanted to see what is on his PATREON page when you sign up to the lowest tier)

I wonder how many of those +260 paid people are the highest tier! can't be higher than 5-10% ! even that would be insane in my opinion

Exactly this! What's the point of long-term support at the $5 or $10 tier, when you're forced to wait anyway? You don't get the game, even if you've been subbed since January, which is even dumber because you've *literally paid more than expected* to get the game. It's discouraging for new patrons, and insulting to current patrons. Huge shame, considering how great the game is.
