If you think that this is preachy - think again. This is just a simple warning. On the other hand when devs start giving "Evil" routes in their games only unsatisfying endings as "you shouldn't do such things or it'll end bad" then yea, that's when you want to draw a line.

why is the warning necessary tough this should be common sense and certainly dint need to be told in an adult game

this is common practice that removes any possible legal responsibility from the author in case someone gets "inspired" by the game. Insurance of sorts

All happened, and almost always more to protect the creators' legal rights and/or to avoid legal hassles than promote the creators' political beliefs. (A little iffier with the late 1980s/early 1990s "don't do drugs" thing, though I'd bet at least as many companies included that to curry political favor and deflect scrutiny into their games as did it because they actually actively wanted to promote the message).

Do what everyone else does, and just ignore it. No one expects it to convince people to actually change their behavior.
