I don't know, man. That seems like a tall order. This game is like winegums or other multi-flavour sweets: It's damn near impossible to enjoy just a single snacksized bite! Sure, you can have just a small bite of the stuff, but then you will be left wanting more... And more... And just a bit more...Yep. But honestly, if he paces himself, Part V will probably be near the end or maybe even the beginning of Part VI, so, he'll still have technically 4 parts to play.
...And before you know it, you will have played through a third of a part already. Which is a great testament to the extensive variety of the game (and the variety of winegums, of course) but not so great for pacing yourself with what is available.
Honestly, if it wasn't for MoonBox's robot-like level of reliability and consistency with the releases, I probably would have fucked off from this game and left it on the wayside over a year ago! There are so many games out there that would be great if their respective developers just didn't take freaking ages to update the dang things...
...Which fortunately is not an issue with GH.

I honestly said I would begin a playthrough to see how many days it would take to finish it until the last update we had. So... I guess I would not pace myself on this playthrough.I don't know, man. There's honestly not that much content unless you read very slowly and focus on every "ooh" and "aah" of lewd scenes. The image quality is such that the 5GB of each part isn't as much as you'd think. It's not a small amount of content but you can easily go though it all between updates without skipping anything.
I think it's at the moment somewhere around the size of The Sorcerer, maybe a little longer. At least the amount of time spend felt similar to me.
Some good content though, definitely worth going through and unlike some other VNs that have many older women in it, this one doesn't give them man faces which is a plus.

I'm in part 1 and wondering, does the pacing improve? So far the pacing is terrible, it's impossible to actually get off because time between scenes is too long. ( I realize it could be setting the stage for a much better pacing in later parts, which is why I am asking. Many games start out a bit of a slog but then reach a much better pace later)

As I recently replayed the whole game to do some proofreading (here), I can confirm that part 1 feels a bit slower than the other ones because the characters have to be introduced and the MC does not jump on them immediately.
I can also say that the pacing, the quality of the renders, and the humor are all improving in the next parts of the game.
The first part introduces a LOT of characters and they even tell you in the review that this game isn't for those who just want to jump in and quickly get into a wank session. The characters are extremely well developed with overlapping story lines, so it takes time at first in part 1, slightly slower, but the other parts get much faster in this game and get more convoluted.
