this game reminds me of a fusion between drakan accient gates and skyrim,in this game the enemies can violate our heroin?, will you have a system of slavery where the protagonist can be enslaved by npcs or bandits ect? it would be nice if the npcs tried to trick us into capturing us and enslaving us as sex slaves,U can put also trap zones, that if you enter X site there is an event where your character ends up enslaved or raped :KappaPride:
Hey Cristiany, thanks so much for your interest in the project! Skyrim is one of many classic RPG titles we are inspired by, lots of fantasy goodness awaits! In regards to your other question, no we will not be implementing slavery or non-con content. We might play around with bandit interactions in future, but only when we have the time and resources to do it well and with sensitivity. In this new industry we need to make sure we aren’t violating any terms of the platforms we’re publishing or crowdfunding on :) there’ll be heaps of great content regardless and I’m sure you’ll have fun - stay tuned!

Is there any word on a new demo coming out?
Hey maniac101! Thanks for checking in :) we haven’t been able to get the public demo updated as yet, as we’ve been focusing solely on our detailed character customization system. Once the first iterations of this feature have been finalized and tested, our next priority will be getting out a new demo for you guys to play. Heaps of progress has been made over the past few months. All of our change logs are public on Patreon if you head on over and read even if you are not a current supporter. Please let me know if I can answer any other questions :)

New character customization system now available in Grimgate 0.2.6!
Companion tier and up:
This is just the first implementation of what will be a very detailed and vast customizer, with literally thousands of possible variations!
A updated free public build is very close in sight, hopefully before end of February but we will keep you all informed of progress. If you haven’t played the game since version 0.0.1, then you’re going to be in for a huge surprise!

We need to know what to do!
Are there INVISIBLE WALLS ALL OVER?
Are all assets loaded SMACK AT GAME STARTUP so we run the gauntlet of fillin our RAM with unnecessary filler?
Are there Quests EMBEDDED IN THE GUI SO WE CAN READ THE GOALS AND CHECK OUR ADVANCE?
Are there any action scenes? Where do we find them? (which quests feature the hot scenes?)

Grimgate 0.2.6 release notes
Greetings everyone! We've got lots of exciting new features to play with over the coming weeks as the avatar system nears prime time, however we want to get an early version out to you all for feedback and momentum into the new year. This release includes limited body customisation and playable customised character in the Grimgate gate district. Stay tuned for greater and more detailed body, face and material/texture customisation in coming updates!
Grimgate 0.2.6 download
We're still working hard to bring our avatar system to version 1.0 and are estimating it to be feature complete in mid-late February 2020. Once at 1.0, we'll be all set to begin rolling out the game's initial races and genders.
We hope you all had a great Holiday season and are ready for a big 2020 :)
Grimgate 0.2.6 changelog
Changes and additions:
  • Implemented first pass player character creation game-flow, including body customisation and unarmed locomotion. Combat and sex animations are yet to be cleaned up and retargeted to our new player rig and so upon entering the tavern cellar and cave areas your character will switch to the previous implementation.
Known issues that will be fixed in future update:
  • Mesh penetration issue back of Adventurer's Jerkin.
  • Various UI inconsistencies, ie. certain items do not show correct stats and bonuses in the Character Sheet.
  • No Graphics settings/Control remapping menu. This will be implemented in-game ASAP and released in Grimgate 0.3.0.
  • There are some old barrels laying around the camp area that can be opened but may cause bugs. Beware.
  • Minimap is incorrect in caves.
  • Weapon pivot is incorrect when jumping.
  • Unarmed attacks have no hitbox, so don't attempt to punch skeletons to death just yet.
  • Skeletons have some issues with turning on the spot.
  • To climb out of the pool in the caves, you'll need to try both sets of stairs as one of them is too high to climb out of - swimming will be implemented very soon!
  • Foot IK can freak out a bit when standing off a ledge.
  • Some issues with Planar Reflection flickering at certain view angles.
  • It's possible to get around certain collision geometry and "out of the world" if you're persistent enough and jump upon the right spots. If you get stuck this way please restart your game!
Controls:
  • WASD - move/strafe
  • Mouse - look/aim
  • Tab - toggle walk
  • Left Shift - sprint
  • Left Alt - dash
  • V - toggle combat stance
  • Left Click - attack (in combat stance)
  • I - open inventory
  • E - interact with the current target

Hey there :) are you referring to the public demo or a specific Patreon build? The demo build is a single scene with minimal gameplay, UI and no quests. Performance was not optimized for this build. The Patreon builds are far more indicative of the project, and so it is a big priority for us to update the public demo to reflect this :) I think your questions will be answered more simply once the demo is out.

Hey there, all successive builds contain additional content. We do not remove content per build unless absolutely necessary, so each update is bigger and better than the last. Therefore, it is always best for the Patron to download the most recent update. Hope that helps to clarify :)

Valentine's Update

Hello everyone!
Happy Valentine's from Grave Companions.
It's been a while since we've posted aside from builds here on Patreon. We're always active in Discord, but we'd like to get back into posting regular news and info here for your throughout the month.
Since the prototype of the player character creator, we have been focussing on bringing more life and visual interest to the game with NPCs. Our first NPC, Lilah, will be the quest giver for our build this month and will feature her custom sex animations and is fully voiced by the very talented and well-known adult VA - Pixie Willow.
We are now moving forward to build out the game with more playable content to string all existing test features into a more cohesive gameplay experience. By adding new NPC's with personality and individualism, it will bring Grimgate to life and make it feel like a bustling hub from where you will begin the game as your custom player character.
Over this month and possibly through to next, we want to prioritize updating our public build and Patreon page to more accurately reflect where the game is now and to allow players to see what our plans are before they pledge. During this process, we will be doing some substantial internal planning for the rest of the year, and mapping out future development for the game.
We hope that we will also be able to translate this into an informative guide for players to see what our plans are and follow along with progress as we tick off each new feature. You can expect the latest build by the end of the month, bursting with new content and gameplay we think will be enjoyable and engaging. If you have any questions, feel free to drop a comment below or jump into Discord for a chat! More news to come soon!
