He claims not to be "leeching the patreon money", because it's only $50/month. $50 or $1, it's still leeching, IF YOU AREN'T DOING ANYTHING TO DESERVE IT. An honorable developer would close down the account, if they have no intention of continuing, or at least pause payments, if they think they might pick it up in the future.

This developer has no honor and is a leech by definition.

But then I read his 'statement' on Discord, and..well, that gave me a big hearty laugh, so... now I'm good again.

Yup, they weren’t making enough money to make continuing development worthwhile, I get that. But they never released content frequently enough to get people to give them more. They just had to buckle down and really commit to the game, spend even more time on development, and have a period of time where they frequently released good sized updates and I think that their support would have eventually taken off. However, they seemed to expect the money would come first and and then they’d commit more time after receiving it. While that’s the case for some games, even worse games, it’s not the case for all and they weren’t so lucky so they had to work even harder but either didn’t have the time or didn’t feel like their increased efforts would pay off so they didn’t want to. It’s unfortunate because it was a great game. Hopefully at least the artist tries another project.
