VN - Ren'Py - Completed - Haley's Story [v1.1 Pre-Patched] [Viitgames]

I loved it. The MC is just enough understated to not be ridiculous. Haley is beautiful and funny. Every instance any sexy time was teased between them, I got hard. The renders are nothing special, but the writing really carries it.

One bit of feedback though: No one kisses with eyes open. It's fucking weird.

Solid story-focused VN. Very slow burning. I believe it took several hours to get to any real action between the MC and Haley. For some, that's great, while others want scenes much earlier in the game. I don't mind and think it works well with the storyline.

edit: I should add that referring to a pussy as "the sex" is really bizarre and dumb, but I won't take a star off for it.

This is a very good story driven VN with a slow burn. It provides you many viable options and not all revolve around the sister if that isn't your thing. The only real problem in the game is that it's borderline too slow burning. I think if the creator added another H-scene in the first third of the game it would really help it but once the action begins it does come at a gratifying pace. Highly recommend for those who enjoy story and romance in their VN's.

Now that I have finished the latest update I feel I can give an honest review of the game, I'm sorry to say I wasn't too fond of the branching paths, there are only really 2 choices & one of them being Haley sucks, I seriously dislike the character, both the look & her personality, If your aim is to get with her get ready for a LONG case of blue balls for the protagonist, she is a tease, flirts with all the other characters in the game but still you are her simp would be boyfriend.

It does suck because animation on the rest of the characters are great but you don't get to choose who you end up with really as I said there are only 2 love interests to choose from & neither are very appealing from a personal standpoint sadly.

A far better game than I expected, considering the typical Daz 3D model setup. But there's some serious care that's gone into this game, its writing, and its renders. Sometimes touching, often very funny, with relationships that feel real and lived-in. The creators of Haley's Story took the tools available to them and did what very few with the same tools are capable of: elevated them to something worthwhile.

I could not recommend this game more.

I really like this game so far, the relationships, at least for me flow very smoothlly, the only thing I don't like is that we don't get to actually have a conversation with Sandra about having either an open relationship or a polyamorous one, I don't like how things play out personally, I mean it makes sense, it works and it is awesome, but I don't like the fact that these types of conversations don't seem to happen[/Ispoier]

The game has good renders, has a very good story, awesome characters, and I love it, one of my favorites.

For anyone not interested in me raving about something I like about this game that you are not interested in:

- Great Story
- Great Art
- Great Dialogue
-Great scenes... and Great animations "sigh".



Okay this is going to sound strange for a porn game review, but bear with me.
What got me most about this game long before I decided to post this review, was the Psychological aspects of the story.

- The main girl was abused as a child, which can lead to psychological issues, leading to a personality that we see in the game (Plus her submissive side and insistence on rougher handling in some scenes).

- A brother who I believe in "Canon" is nice to her, a friendly and understanding presence in her life before we start the in game story.

- So it is plausible that she develops a crush for her brother in an emotionally and psychologically scarred state of mind.

- And her acceptance when her brother pursues a relationship with her since she is still not over her crush/infatuation (As she herself states during there first actual sex scene in parents house) and not yet psychologically healed as well.

- The route with a threesome in v0.96 also makes sense up-till now or any future developments, because the "other" girl too has her own baggage( literally an in-game choice around this point), self esteem issues and possible psychological trauma( That hasn't "yet" been explored in-game).

Before the conclusion I would like to state that I am NOT looking for realism in a porn game, I mean I still have WVM on my watch-list and download every update. There is just a depth to this story that I can safely say I haven't seen in any of even the best stories on this site.

Also I don't know what the developer has planned so everything I've said above and everything bellow this are just my observations and opinions.


So with that out of the way it is my belief that the best good end is somewhere along the Adriana route (They either realize that the relationship they have is no good and part ways amicably and live as a happy healthy family OR after realizing all that they decide that they would rather stay together and pursue the relationship more maturely).
Of course I'm hoping for a Adriana+Haley+MC...but sadly I believe that might just remain a dream...........but still hope springs eternal............Sooo.

The pure Haley route would lead to maybe a pseudo good ending or lost everything ending

As for the Sandra route I believe it is a recipe for disaster. I mean two emotionally and psychologically scarred women in a relationship with the MC while he is actively trying to get one of them help (we don't know about the other one yet) what are the chances that after getting well Haley doesn't realize she needs to leave her brother for both there good( best case), worst case senario everything blowsup in everyone's face.

So what are the chances the Sandra route is the good ending route............Very good actually since it would be a dumb move for the developer to end a main route (So far) in a Bad Ending..... Still it depends on on their following.

This is not your typical erotic game. A majority of adult games for better or worse are about the sex, but I'm a sucker for a good story along with the eroticism. Haley's story is a story with a heart. This is the kind of story my wife will enjoy. As the MC, you can choose other routes...you have other opportunities to bang other women, but this really isn't that type of game if you really are invested in the story. Once you play the most obvious route is Haley.

When you begin the game, the MC and Haley have been best friends since childhood...not brother and sister as it says in the outline (MC has other parents in the story, I'm assuming because of Patreon rules against incest). There's a slow burn of sexual tension between MC and Haley...and it is frustrating because you keep thinking, "C'mon you two, you should be together. Stop denying it!"

All of the characters feel like real people. They talk and feel like real people. They all have unique personalities with their own flaws. Most of the characters in the game are decent human beings with flaws...and some with some dark secrets.

The graphics and animations are excellent. The sex scenes fit the characters' personalities.

My only real beef with the game is that early on, the MC gets into a relationship with someone who is very attractive, very nice but is seemingly a bad fit from a personality perspective. I'm not complaining about that too much because that happens in real life as well.

Overall, this is an excellent game thus far. If you're hoping for a bangfest, this is not the game for you. It's all about the characters and the story...and that's not a bad thing. In the case of Haley's Story, it's excellent.

I can lose myself in explaining how polished and amazing the game is.

The writing is genius....
The pace is just right....
The story is simple, yet deep and feels important and meaningful....
The decisions by the MC and Haley make so much sense and everything is real and so touching.

This is not a game.... this is more like a journey into yourself...
This is a book (amazing one), written but someone's hopes, desires and dreams...

I'm in the site for more than a year...and this is one is by far... is one of the most amazing things I saw and read in my life (books, movies, games).
Speechless!

A little heart-warming drama about the forbidden love of brother and sister.
Featuring also a good amount of comedy ^^

It's similar to Dreaming of Dana. Hayley hasn't the perfect looks (her mouth is a bit spooky) and personality of Dana, but is still attractive and charming in her way.
Her ribbing of her brother is over the top sometimes ... many times. But I got used to it.

Besides this. Worth to be mentioned is the really good ratio of amount of pictures and text.
Perfect to make a lot of content in time, but enough pictures to not just be flooded by a wall of text.

Also mentionable: the part about the abuse. First I thought it was a selfish badass move from the brother.
It would have been much for the better just to live with it and don't hurt his beloved sister with that story from her past.
But the developer did a great job with the way he tells this storyline.

A bit negative aspect about story: their relationship and all-day life goes to smoothly.
No painful twists or surprises (only some inevitable ones like breaking up with their current partners).
Something really bad could happen that would lay a dark shadow over their fate ... which can be or not be averted later.

I don't care much for graphics. But they are good (not awesome, not bad), the animations seem to get a bit better with later parts of the game but are far from great.

So, despite this seems to be the first romantic game I really enjoyed playing this year, it has a few flaws that keeps me off to give the 5 stars.
Since there are no 4½ stars, I will rate it with 4.

Choices and "relationship points" that do nothing and go nowhere, the game is basically just a kinetic novel where you get forced into relationships with Haley and Sandra, a side character I didn't care for. The only actual choices seem to be the ability to say no to a few other side girls.

Edit: You get the choice to break up with Sandra later on, but you are stuck with her for a good part of the game.

And while I found both Haley and Sandra to be kind of annoying, at least they come off as actual human beings, you know, with stuff like emotions, interests, and ambitions. The same can't be said about the MC, who is just a black hole sucking the life and energy out of every scene.

The "MC as a blank slate" formula only works if you get to define him by making choices, molding him into something. Here you are condemned to stay a passive object, getting dragged along the linear plot, never so much as even uttering an opinion or showing a passing interest in anything besides sex. And even that doesn't seem to excite him all that much.

Even renders of the MC only show him with a lifeless, blank-faced stare. The fact that his face is shown in renders, but only shown as a black silhouette in dialogue kind of suggests even the dev is confused about whether he is supposed to be an actual character.

Other games fuck up the MC by making him too much of a shy schoolboy or too much of a creepy pervert, but here you're kind of nothing. An anti-character. You basically just grunt out monosyllabic answers if asked a question and do what other people tell you to.

The only thing in this game I actually enjoyed was the attention to detail when it comes to physical intimacy besides just ramming your dick into somebody. The way Haley kisses and bites the MC's nose is a weird little detail that makes their relationship seem more real.

When the game decided to suddenly introduce rape and trauma as a dramatic twist in their sappy romcom incest story it was a good reason to finally drop this game.

I didn't play this game for a long time because I got burned so bad on other games with an apparent single-character focus. But once I learned that you can have a relationship with a black girl I wanted to give it a shot.

It took me maybe five minutes to fall in love with this game. The dialogue is spot-on. Seriously, it is certainly the best dialogue I've ever read in a porn game by leaps and bounds. Haley and the MC are siblings, truly. Every word they say to each other seems true to life. I seriously laughed out loud. Then there is Sandra, damn is she hot! I also think her character is very well developed and her part in the story is believable.

Which is the other thing about this story that I love. It doesn't feel like a far-flung fantasy. Which makes it an even hotter story. I could go on, but who wants to read that? Go play this game instead! You won't regret it!

*Update after finishing* I have finally finished the game. I went the Sandra route because I thought she was a lot of fun, well written, and a good compliment to Haley. But after everything I thought the ending was rushed and felt unsatisfying. I also kind of felt that the game dragged on a bit unnecessarily.

So after thinking about the game's flaws I would probably go back and lower the score to 3 or 4 stars. But I'm not. I'm going to leave it at 5 stars for these reasons:

1. It is a completed game. Even if it feels like sub-plots were abandoned the main line of the game is complete and works very well. A completed game of this size is worth a 1-star bump.

2. The dialogue is still some of the best I've read, with several moments where I actually laughed out loud. It keeps the story alive and makes you want to keep playing, even with sub-par graphics and animation.

If you like a slow-burn romantic story give this game a shot.

One tiny problem though, not enough juicy angles ya get me? Could be fixed by maybe a button to change view, would be a little nicer for those(me included) that'd like to have a better view during the sex scenes.
Other than that, awesome game and i'll play it regardless.
Also, really cool feature that we can actually suggest Haley to grow her pubes, for those of us that love pubic hair (also me included), this is something we rarely get to see in adult games and we'd love to see more features like that in other games, so props on that my guy!

First and foremost I simply have to point out that I haven't finished the game (not that the game is finished to begin with). I'm not even half way through. But I can't let this go, this game goes above and beyond and it is amazing.

To even point out how amazing I think it is, I want to emphasize what games I even like on this site. I like nasty dirty stuff. I like games that are a 10 hour equivalent of a brazzers video. Guy delivers pizza, girl is upset that she order with sausage, guy decides to pull dick out, everyone is happy. Add some double anal, water sports, bestiality and scat, and we've just made my favorite game

This game is anything but that. Had I started playing in the early builds I would have classified it as a "tease fest" with no "meat". Even now, half way through, there hasn't been much action. BUT IT DOESN'T MATTER! This game is just so good.

So what is this game and what isn't it?

Well it isn't a purely tease game, I want to get that out of the way real fast. There's fucking and it's good. The animations are the most basic animations ever, but the models, lighting and environments are good.

This isn't the game equivalent of a brazzers video either. It has sex, but it isn't that much of a porno. It's romantic and cute and nice and well written with cool characters, nice dialog, amazing banter.

It isn't unrealistic either. Sure, you're kinda managing a harem. But guess what - you hawt. The MC is looking fiiiine. He is a bit of blank at times, not driving the story but reacting. It's the other characters who are pulling the weight of the story. But you ain't no harry potter. You do have subtle reactions that are perfect and illustrate what you (the MC) are going through and what's on their mind - and get this - WITHOUT SPELLING IT OUT! Killer7 could learn a lot from this game.

I find the story to be a bit of a fantasy. Things just line up too well, everything just comes to easily togeather, and there's virtually no wrench in side (throwing a wrench in your work - I was trying to be funny).

But it's not unbelievable either. I just ... I like it. Completely subjective, I know, but that's what most reviews are.

Now about the incest. If you're playing the game without incest, you are absolutely missing out. I wouldn't go as far as to say that the game is pointless without the patch. It isn't. I'm sure it works. But maaaaaaan is this game good if you play it the way God intended.

Onto the story

The story is about a pair of fraternal twins moving to the big city, far away from home, to make it big. They start by working in the basement of a comically inept firm (nothing like this could survive IRL, but whatever). There are complications, money is a bit tight but nothing crazy. You guys just gotta make it.

On your journey you start meeting new people - most of which are girls - and you get friendly with them. Not in the jhonny sins kind of way, just regular friendly. But through the gift that the Gods have bestown upon you, namely your genetic code, the girls start seeing you as a worthwhile investment.

Now, this isn't a harem anime, but it is a western harem. Which is to say - cheating. And it's done rather well and tasteful.

Story spoilers, but only enough to get you invested if you are so far unsure

You start dating this black chick. She's cute, but not the most well balanced person in the world. She is cute and loving and affectionate. A great GF at first glance. But she's difficult, puts her job way above anything else. Feels bad about it, but still, her job is her #1 priority - by far.

This kinda gives you an excuse. She's cute and nice and a good girl, but neglectful and difficult and a bit of a blue baller. In the real world, the MC would probably just deal with it and get into a semy-loveless mariage that would most likely end in divorce. Or cheat on her early on and get caught.

This being a bit of a fantasy, you get many oportunities to cheat on her, and not get caught. There's a segment in the game where she gets a promotion and is out of town 5 days a week, for the forseable future.

Now don't get me wrong, these are all real world situation. Nothing is insane or wrong. It feels like I'm reviewing a book. This is because the game is just so good.

THAT BEING SAID!

The star of the show is your sister and the relationship you have with her. You've never been apart your whole lives. You live together, you work in the same room, you spend almost all of your time together, especially your free time.

There's banter and a bit of incompatibility on what each likes, but they work through it and get even closer. It's cute and sweet and lovable.

But she also completely has a crush on you. And I use the word crush, because it falls in line with the language I've used in this review so far. What she has for you, is a boner. She is DTF. She even drops her boyfriend because it's taking time away form her bro.

Despite encouraging you to see girls, pushing the harem in the game, she wants to fuck you. But it makes sense! This is why I keep coming back to how well the game is written.

• On the one hand, she is totally jelly of you dating other girls.
• But on the other hand completely realizes that it's incest and wrong and will never work.
• But on the other hand she ends up sleeping exclusively in your bed.
• But on the other hand, isn't willing to go to far.
• But on the other hand, she is pushing you into chosing her more and more every day.
• But then she pushes you back because she knows she won't mess up just your relationship wit her, but with your girlfriend also.
• But on the other hand, pushes you into more than one girl, maybe hoping you do break up with your girlfriend.

Haley is conflicted, and so are you (the MC). You aren't a horndog, nor a pushover, nor slow or dull or weak. You do let other people make their moves first, but you do make moves of your own.

You can chose not to cheat, not to commit incest (I think ... not 100% sure that Haley is completely avoidable). But you can choose to fuck gorgeous women and the game doesn't punish you for it.

But again, the star is Haley.

Play it, you won't regret it. Just, you know. The patch > all

An excellent game for those who want a more real type of game with no minigames, boring stats, etc...

Great characters who all feel like natural people, no over the top bimbos or obvious stereotypes.

It has great pace, not too fast or too slow and rarther than a crazy story, it has a more normal life feel with some heavy parts(infact i would say F95 should add a "serious" tag for games like this).

Art is very good althrough there is a large pause before each animation which is annoying.

An extremely well-done game. If the brother/sister theme doesn't interest you, forget it. Otherwise, it is to be considered one of the best around. Beautiful graphics and well-defined characters. The game mechanics are well done and smooth.
Highly recommended to anyone who liked Man of the House or Big Brother

Out of the mass of adult visual novels on this site, there is a handful that just have that special something that raises them head and shoulders over the rest. This is one of them.

5 stars? really?
Yeah....and not for the cg renders and animations...because they are just average compared to any other VN on here. No, it is the dialogue and character development. It hooked me in completely and actually made me care about the characters.

Looking at the description, you could easily think that it`s just yet another taboo brother and sister story...like quite a few others on here. You would be wrong though, as this is a truly heartwarming tale that is essentially a love story at it`s core. Haley, the sister, has such a lovable and flawed nature that your heart breaks for her as more of her character develops. Impudent, childish, insecure, sarcastic are some of her traits but most off all she has an unconditional and overwhelming love for her brother (MC) and it unfolds more and more each day. It`s the kind of love we could only dream off in real life. It`s obsessive yes, but also beautiful too.

The dialogue is very intelligent and has fantastic banter - unlike many VNs on here that come across as written by a 10 year old.

If you just want something for the spank bank, you are better off going to Pr0nhub to rub one out. This is a slow burn romance and the main brother/sister love theme is so touching that I didn`t even bother about the other love interests or characters...I just want the MC and his adoring sister, Haley to find true love and live together happily ever after.

Five fucking stars for making me care about two characters in a game

The only thing i miss in this game is what sometimes miss in other games. The amount of images or animations in intimate scenarios.
This game writing is quite good and images complement text quite well, probably this is in my top 3.

I always point the massage scenes, specially if that massage represents a breaktrough, its kind of like that in this game. Theres other scenes that "suffer" from the same and the game does superb still cause writing is very good and characters feel consistent, but if it took a little step forward adding a little bit of intimacy in some moments, would be a masterpiece.

EDIT:

After playing for a second time, the scrutiny is harder. Playing a second time is kind of normal for a game that is in development like this one, so i would think it is unfair what comes as a result from that.

What i can say is the writing doesnt sound complex at all, at some point i would ask myself if this is even a native, and at some point i notice the English level of this one may be bad like: "We always used to have fun, no?" instead of "We used to have fun all the time, right?". Only an example.
There is also a noticeable abuse of "he he"

Intimacy part is a plus, and the relasionship building is quite good, and the interactions, i dont understand how can anybody say otherwise, but on the other hand i have to say that I ran away from any other paths to stick to Haley, so i can not speak about the other paths. Maybe those are not that good.

I dont like the fact that i have to be with Sandra for a good part of the game, even after rejecting her at every ocasion. She is a white girl painted black and is more fit than me and her eyes are like led cristal balls or something.

Animations are bad, they serve the purpose of letting you know that the lewd thing is happening, but some animations will break your brain cause phisics and biomechanics are all wrong.

I have been following Haley path but this path at some point doesnt have anymore to offer, only a substory about her past, but since their relationships remains inside a bubble, doesnt have any implication outside the house, with some minor exceptions. I guess it is legit that someone could get tired.
There is a reason to why reaction videos are so popular, and in this game for the most part nobody is reacting to anything, cause nobody knows shit about anything, everything is happening inside plot bubbles.

Another thing that i want to point out is Haley dialogue face picture that keeps popping up in dialogues it shouldnt, and the lack of soul of the Mc. Many times during their interacctions you see Haley closing her eyes or with some other face expressions and the MC may have the same souless face like he is autistic or he is not aknowledging she is there.

The lack of renders is still a thing, many situtations are told with a few renders, and not all dialoguues are good to make up for it.

This is one of those vns that is so well paced, so well written, you cannot not love this one. Haley is just one of the cutest and most lovable characters, and the story truly makes you care about her, at least it made me care about her. There are so many moments where you just FEEL it how much she loves the mc(you), and it gives the story so much more depth. The dialogues between the mc and Haley are the highlight of the story, and while the rest of the characters are just as well written, there is something special about Haley.
The art is great, the characters look good, and though the animations are not the best they are still appreciated.
I highly recommend this vn, it just oozes charm, while still approaching some serious topics quite well.

One of the best VNs in this site for sure, is the only VN I Can remember where you can engage on a relationship with a black woman. Not just a casual fuck, but on Sandra’s path the MC can create an emotional connection with her. Thumbs up for the creator and I highly recommend this VN.
