I can think of several reasons.
First, it's a crowded space. An update never stays very long on the first page on the Latest Updates section and I think a lot of people use that to find new games. So your discoverability drops fast.
Then there's the fact the game isn't for everyone. Certain scenes being unavoidable and the choice being only picking which variation is happening, doesn't suit some people. (Choices are getting better and better as we progress but some players won't know about it.)
And then, comments here are rather clean and on topic. I've seen other games having a lot of waffles by the same handful of people using a public space for private discussions, not even always about the game. So a lot of pages doesn't necessarily mean a lot of supporters.

Now if we could see the number of followers, I think that would be a more interesting metric. But I hear what you're saying still, and I agree more talk wouldn't go a miss.

This game is awesome so far and I'm loving it. However I hate the tiny 5 minute updates and prefer to wait for at least 2 if not 3 updates in a VN so I can get immersed in the world. I'll probably wait until November to pick this one up again, even though I would love to see what happens to the MC sooner.

I think it feels like 5mn because of the unusually long time this one took.
Up to Day 3 the dev was roughly only taking a month and a release would include a full day. For Day 4 this completely changed.
Overall the dev is adding more details to the releases and one can see the difference between the first and now. Day 4 is as big as Day 1-3 together.
Personally I think it's worth the wait. And the end of the poker night is promising to be spectacular.

Having missed the previous update, it certainly seemed like he'd stepped up his game since I last played. So I definitely agree. Like someone said earlier, I think this is a game that deserves a wider audience on this site, than it appears to have

Well I was looking forward to this but after downloading the android update it installs a new game. With android 12,13,14 you no longer have access to the data folder so I can't copy my save files. It won't update because you changed the package names between versions. 3.8 was com.vnadults.hardays and 3.9 is com.vnadults.harddays. I'll wait till there is more content before I start over. But thanks and good luck with your game.

Father-in-law has enough blue pills to give the hubby a boost. Maybe adding a (straight) single female neighbour to teach and take care of the boosted hubby could make things more interesting, when the mc has real competition

sais who? It takes longer because there is more to tell. I bet the second half of the night is some kind of turning point for Loren. It deserve to have more time worked on it. the following days might see a return to normal ingame length of time. But there are no rules. Beside with an already completed game under their belt VNadults gets more respect than many other devs.
