What a shame, it's just another game straight from tfgamessite, not really worth the download unless you're into dudes turning into girls.
While I agree with the sentiment of the quote, I've gotta say that the quality of the screenshots has me in awe. I haven't seen such diverse character art in forever. I'll keep my fingers crossed that any TF content can be avoided like in The Company, but I'mma DL this & play it till I get disgusted or grow ovaries myself :p just to see some o' them female toons he came up with (hope they're all NPC's). That's some quality shit. Seems this is the author's only title, so whatever. I've played shitty games before & games I came to hate. At least this time I'm going in with the knowledge that it prolly won't be my cup of tea.
Thanks @Muff Diver for the up.

As for the default browser crap, simply RIGHT CLICK the game.html file that starts it & choose "Open with" My default browser is Opera, but I use Firefox to run these since FF handles JS & other shit better. No changing settings no craziness, just right click & choose.

[edit] confirmed, works fine without the EXE in FF. If you dunno where the game.html file is, follow the instructions for unlocking the Patreon content in the OP. OH & yeah, for the original quoted text in this post: the dev states the TF content is clearly marked & avoidable

[edit 2.0] Scanned through the graphics. Nice SD or LowDef 1-off rendors. Makes sense with the HTML format I guess. Yes, the TF routes are clearly marked. Sorry to the dev, I only got past like page 3. In my defence I've got a major chest infection & all that text with tiny sidebars of images is too much reading for the bang atm.

The fuck is it with this site and all the knink shaming? Considering how popular incest is, people in glass houses shouldn't throw stones.
Unfortunately, you'll always find kink shaming, especially in a community as large as this. It does strike me as interesting, though, that a lot of the kink shaming focuses on games that involve "unmasculine" characteristics (MtF, homosexuality, twinks, trans, futa, genderfluidity/swapping).

But for real to everyone on this site, if you're into beastiality or incest or transformation or bimbos or super vanilla sexy times or whatever, that's fine. Don't shit on other people for being into whatever they're into. They're fantasy worlds played out on computers. Let people indulge in whatever their pleasures are. Nobody here is under the impression that any of this is real or that 99.99% of any of the stuff in these games is even possible.

I play a fucking Lightning Bear in League of Legends. I'm under no illusion that I can be an armoured lightning bear at any point in my life. I get that it's a video game. The same applies to video game porn. We get that it's a made up fantasy world, so the same way you don't judge someone for playing Call of Duty or The Witcher, people probably shouldn't be judging someone for playing an MtF themed video game.

New version is up.

Dudes, chill out. No one kink shamed no one (I never thought I had to read about this oversensitive "you're X shaming" stuff here too).
The guy who "kink shamed" expressed the idea that the game is mainly TF and so it's not worth if you're not into TF. Which is totally reasonable and informative.
And if you go to comment on an incest game "This is mainly incest, so it's not worth if you're not into incest" that is again totally reasonable and informative. At least if the game isn't called IncestTown, FamilyStuff, MotherFucker or something similar; in that case the sentence remains reasonable but it's not so much informative.

Personally I find "unmasculining" games quite a turn off, so I'm very happy to know if a game is centered on MC feminization, so I can avoid to waste my time with it.
Maybe you're turned off by incest, so I think you'd be very happy to know if a game is centered on incest, so you can avoid to waste your time.

On a side note, as I said some pages ago, the game is not completely TF. It is completely possible to play it following straight or slightly bisexual and dominant path, but surely TF and MC submission is a good part of the game, so if you're not into TF and MC submission, the content is strongly reduced (and it requires a great deal of grinding to reach the full dominance of the slaves, if you don't cheat to get easy money).

That is, of course, why we tag games in the first place, and this one's pretty properly tagged. Someone (not you) going out of their way to go into the thread to say, "well this game has XYZ, so it's a shame that it exists unless you're into XYZ", only serves one purpose.

@Jaspickle Yeah, of course I wouldn't dare to. I enjoy games where the underlying premise is that the MC blackmails his mom and sis for sex in exchange of food (and I blamed the fact that there isn't a darker and more realistic path) and freecities where the MC does stuff worth of a horror movie. Pointing fingers would be quite ridicolous. :D

How do I play the game? When I click on the exe it opens and then I click start and it opens a internet explorer page that is blank.

I think the issue is that tags don't tell the whole story. A transformation or humiliation tag, for example, doesn't tell you if that's what the game is primarily about, or if it just happens to feature in a certain section. It also doesn't tell you if these things are happening to other characters or the MC, or how avoidable they are, if at all. It can be very helpful to have a courtesy comment that specifies what a certain tag is referring to in the context of the game. Especially since a lot of games will have certain kinks implemented in such a way that they can be avoided if the player so chooses, such as incest.

For example, I don't mind games having gender transforming in them at all, but I don't like games that are primarily about the MC being feminized/sissified, which include most of the stuff you find on TFG. A TF or MTF tag is not that helpful, because they don't tell you exactly what you're getting.

After launching the game and clicking start game it always closes and nothing opens up :(
It can happen if Windows use internet explorer as browser by default.
You can start game manually by opening "Hard Times in Hornstown [v1.13] [Unlikely]\Hornsville_Data\StreamingAssets\data\game.html" file using chrome\opera\etc.
