This last update was so strange, and unnecessary. I don't know why so many FD games that hit it big early on suddenly decide to make a massive change to it's plot, or start adding side characters most people aren't interested in - basically moving away from the very things that made the game popular to begin with.

It happens so often, I've suspected that these new devs are getting purposefully bad advice from a certain scamming milking developer of a competing game in the same genre.

I didn't notice a change. The dialogues are weird from the start and the renders are still of the same high quality. We finally see some asian characters

Bad advice maybe, I don't know.

I'm very confused on this whole Osaka thing. Is the story set in Japan from the beginning? Or did MC just move there during the time he was away from his family? You need to be a Japanese citizen to even be eligible for joining the police force there. That means the MC was naturalized after moving there, which seems farfetched, or the whole plot is set in Japan. If it's set in Japan, that just comes out of nowhere, because nothing indicated that this might be the case until chapter 2 started.

Have i been catfished? currently in the early game with the introduction of the crazy family and the game is NOTHING like it was during the prologue. Beautiful story with the mother, some mystery and a hint of incest(daughter) basically devolved into a basic trashy family incest with everyone wanting hypno dick mc. That the older versions of mc family are uglier than the early versions doesn't help either

is Mc ever going to stop mopping about his ex? i mean.... its a porn game, not fucking glamour or some boring tv show.
Well it's his personality like SG mc and i guess it's great if it's isn't for that he'll be generic pervy middle aged guy thrives for nothing but lust .so far it was great and going back time to time also a good thing that gives more importance to present scenes and characters.

I definitely prefer the younger versions of Amber and the mom, and hope we can somehow get some flashback content with those designs. If not, I'm still happy enough to see where the story unfolds with the daughter and younger sister

Gotta say, I'm feeling the confusion I'm seeing talked about in other peoples comments. Like.... why Japan? The MC's is a walking red flags of mental issues. There's no way he'd get a gun license to be a police officer. The dude ran some poor bum over, what the hell? And why Japan? I get I've said it twice but it kind of feels like a pertinent question. If the Dev wanted to put it in Japan that's grand and all but.... why pick a country that is like 99% ethnic Japanese and have all the characters Caucasian...? There's like one Japanese character I could see. Did all the others go on holiday or something?

I get the MC hunting for the lassie is basically the spine of the story so he'll never "give up" on her but damn... the longer that goes on the more it'll act like an anchor of the game. Couple that with his attitude, I'm not so sure the great renders will carry this

From what I understood, the family is supposed to live in Tokyo (or its suburb), and the MC went to the police academy in Osaka and lived there a decade or so. Don't know why the family members are caucasian, nor why the house and its neighborhood are western stylized.

But we have asian characters in the last flashback (in Osaka) and also japanese-stylised environements.

The problem is, with the exception of the lassie you are narrating the story to, all the Asian characters tend to be gangsters or prostitutes which seems racist as fuck heh.

The whole thing doesn't make sense. If it's set in Japan fine, but then have Japanese models and sets. Is it laziness? Seems unlikely given the production value of the rest of the game is high but setting your story in a country that's literally like 99% of one ethnic group and having all your characters be another with no explanation is... odd... especially as the game so far has shown no real reason for being set there. Is there anything in the story which is impacted by it? Or would be worse off for not being there?

Yeah I find it weird too. My main gripe is a gaijin being a policeman in Japan is highly unlikely, even naturalized. And he doesn't even live with japanese people (don't have a japanese wife, father or mother). It gets me a bit out of the story.

Also the fact it's kinda a surprise to learn the story is happening in Japan further in and not from the start, because of caucasian people and western environement in the beginning.

It's not even about the main cast being white. That's obviously not so farfetched since we are mainly looking at MC's family. It's just that the game never showed in any way that the setting was Japan before chapter 2. In fact, everything pointed towards the assumption that it's in a western nation. There were no Japanese styled architecture or streets. The high school MC went to was certainly not Japanese looking. It had lockers outside and big wide hallways like a typical American high school. Japanese schools don't look like that. The girl was not wearing a Japanese school uniform. We don't see any Japanese people, although we didn't really see any pedestrians or people in the background, to be fair.

Narratively, it also never incorporated the setting into the story. You would think it's a rather unusual or peculiar thing that would make an impact on MC's upbringing or backstory. Japan is extremely homogeneous and a white family that placed their roots there should have some sort of story about how they ended up there. Plus, the struggles to fit in or whatever is never even explored. Somehow, every important person he happens to meet is a foreigner and that's also never brought up. Like you would think meeting another white girl in a Japanese high school would be kind of a big deal. A foreigner, let alone two of them, being in the same police department would also be kind of a big deal.

I don't think anyone is saying the story would be worse if it's placed in Japan. The issue is that there was no indication whatsoever that this is the case. Worse yet, it doesn't really make sense based on the initial story, dialogues, locations, and renders that this was Japan all along.

Sure, it's not really a huge deal as far as banging some family is concerned, but it does make you question the validity of the non-porn side of the story.

Exactly. Let alone someone who very obviously has mental issues to the point the department knows about it. They'd slap a stamp on his head and ship him the fuck somewhere else. It's so damn jarring. The prologue was perfect and now it's like the Dev goes "hey, here some mad world building I'm putting in cause I like weeb shit ok? Peace out"
