That's weird. What's your system specs? Looks like you're on Windows 7, I am wondering if it's another issues with RenpPy 7.4.1 and older hardware.

I'm a little late to this discussion, but I wanted to add my two cents here. "I'd rather have a group of girls happy to be with each other as well as me than a circle of doormats" - this stance is something I have simply never understood. If you want a harem why on earth do you want members of YOUR harem fucking each other on the side? In a threesome/foursome/orgy, sure. The whole point is group sex and they're doing it for your enjoyment (ideally). But why, why, why would you EVER want to be the unloved sex toy getting roped in when they need a dick but otherwise ignored when instead you could be the one they all love and admire? Why limit yourself to, as you put it, "with each other as well as me" when it could be "a group of girls happy to be with ME"? They don't have to be doormats, obviously - in fact, they shouldn't be doormats at all since winning over fascinating ladies is even more of an achievement and navigating the interplay of their personalities is ripe for story fun - but I feel like the whole appeal of the harem concept is claiming the hearts and minds of your targets such that they cannot bear to give you up even if that means they have to share you. You are the harem king, aren't you? The Harem Highlander, if you will? "There can be only one." If that's not the case, if they get with each other all the time and you sometimes, it's NOT YOUR HAREM. They don't love you. You're just kinda there.
I guess my point is, why settle for a participation trophy when you can WIN? Doesn't that make YOU the doormat?

How are you on RenPy 7.4.0 when the game ships with RenPy 7.4.1 ? If your RenPy isn't 7.4.1.1270 you're either using an old version the game with a RenPy that there has been bug fixes for (and I've released updated builds), or on some version of the game I didn't distribute (and if that's the case there's not much I can do to help, unfortunately). Can you please try downloading the game from my Patreon and seeing if that version works properly for you? Also, what is your GPU? The new version of RenPy uses GL2 graphical shaders that do not play nice with old graphics chips.

I liked the first episode but that just felt dumb, I mean OK sure maybe that was an attempt at 2 men NTR a girl, or you know rape, but sure ok whatever, but one man one woman have sex, man and woman ok with the woman having more men, that is NTR and NTR bad, then you go and have the MC have a girlfriend who is fine with him fucking everyone and it's all cool.

This is the first and only game on this site to have me genuinely laughing out loud. Other games I would call humorous or amusing but this is the first game I would actually call hilarious. I didn't know I needed to play this game. When I first saw it, I though it was going to be a humorous but generic harem game. Instead what I got what a hilarious (and occasionally scathing) satire of adult/erotic/porn VNs. Weirdly (in a good way), the game is not so much harem VN, but simply has it as context for the satire. The porn/sex is almost incidental. Harem Highlander isn't really a harem porn VN in the same way Naked Gun isn't really a police/crime thriller, or Tropic Thunder isn't really a war action film.
Part of the reason I love this game is because both the sense of humour and the Eris Discordia's opinion/criticism of the state of the adult/erotic VN "industry" is very similar to my own. I know it probably won't be for everyone but it absolutely clicks with me. The game is absolutely stupid and at times juvenile, but also very self-aware, refreshing, and witty. I love the references, criticisms and potshots to other popular games (and pop culture more generally). Acting Lessons and DMD in particular seems to (understandably) be the subject of much of the author's grievances. This might actually be the first game where the whole "best friend/landlady/roommate" schtick is actually how the game is intended to be played. Though the game isn't just limited to references and criticism of other VNs, there's also just funny in its own right too. Honestly a game like this which is just a pisstake of adult VNs was long overdue, and I'm glad it's finally arrived.
