I very much support Eris Discordia's anti-NTR crusade.
I always though that NTR was the anti-fetish. NTR is the sexual fetish where you fetishize not being part/someone else being part of the sexual activity.
It reminds me of the quote from Mark from the tv show Peep Show:
"I always wondered what my fetish was and it turns out it's basically being absent for most of the sex act."

To end, a handful of joke ideas for Eris Discordia. For whatever it's worth.
See, I don't know why anyone hasn't stumbled across the most obvious solution to the NTR/Anti-NTR debate.

NTR lovers want to be cucked. So promise NTR in the game and then never write it. Everyone's happy. :sneaky:

Any and all consensual sharing is not NTR. Within the harem or not. If the MC consents to his harem members having sex with someone else, they did not cheat, so no NTR.
I doubt this game will go there, because many people are as anti-sharing (with other men) as they are anti-NTR. It seems when it's both a) lesbian relationships and b) within the harem, more people are okay with it.
Be it sharing, ntr or polyamory, I would never be keen to the idea of kissing a mouth that receive random dicks on regular basis.

Sorry for the late response, but evidently the new renpy version isn't compatible with older systems. According to people in this thread

https://f95zone.to/threads/taboo-stories-v0-4-slim-games.30141/post-5028409
Mmm that post isn't really accurate. Right on the Ren'Py release page is: "This release also raises the minimum requirements to run a Ren'Py game. It is now required that a user's computer have OpenGL 2, DirectX 9, OpenGL ES 2, or WebGL to run Ren'Py. The model-based renderer requires OpenGL ES 3 or WebGL 2."

DirectX 9 came out in 2002, and even for model-based renderers, OpenGL ES 3 is equivalent to OpenGL 4.3, which is supported by the from 2009. So I don't know where they're getting 2014 from.

So yes, older systems are no longer supported, but we're generally talking 10+ year old devices, not stuff from 6 years ago.

OK, just had to point out my LOVE for the Sisterly Lust reference in Sloppy Seconds club. How the Innocent Young Wife is a mail order from Belugio, which is where the family and others all move to at the end of SL. Really made me grin like a crazy bastard when I saw that :D

Some of you may be aware of this already if you're on Discord and have seen some of my work-in-progress posts, but I wanted to do an 'official' announcement of sorts, so here we go...!

Harem Highlander is officially getting a Female MC option. When starting a new game, players are able to choose between playing the Male MC (Chad) or Female MC (Charissa). The game content is on par for either choice, so you're not missing out on any major plot or scenes if you pick one way and not the other. This choice is being retroactively applied to existing content (EP2 is basically done, EP1 will be finished in the next week), and with EP3 and further episodes going forward, you will get to play as whichever character you wish.

"But Eris," you may ask, "which one is the canon character for Harem Highlander?" - the answer, my dear players, is both. In-game, both are 100% valid canonically. This will make more sense with further plot development.

A couple of other quick notes from questions I've already been asked about this:

Q: Will this delay Episode 3 / Future development, if you have to make twice the renders?

A: Not appreciably. Backporting Charissa into prior episodes is 90% less complicated than making new renders, and the same applies to future art. The main exception to this is (obviously) sex scenes, but that's not a crazy amount of time. The fact that both MCs follow a very similar path works in my benefit, and indeed, I'm not doing any more 'extra work' than VNs with multiple branching path options wind up doing. (Girl1 Route, Girl2 Route, etc.)

Q: Is this female MC Straight? Bi ? Lesbian? How does this impact my Harem?

A: You can play Charissa as either a Bi or Lesbian woman, the choice is yours. Chad, of course, remains as he currently is. Love interests remain 99% the same - you will not miss out on any of the girls either way.

Q: When can I play as this new MC?

A: For Patrons, Ep1 & Ep2 will be re-released with the Charissa content as soon as I am finished back porting her into the existing scenes and doing the needed dialogue and code modifications. For everyone else, they will get to play as her if they wish when EP3 releases.

Well, that's it for now, sorry for the incredibly long update post, I just wanted you to all to know what I've been working on, and I hope you're all looking forward to more Harem Highlander adventures. As always I want to thank each and every one of you for your support and encouragement, it means the world to me.
<3, Eris.

Why are most devs going back and changing previous things in a vn before finishing it? It's like an epidemic. It truly is a rarity for a dev not to "fix" "improve" a wip. Bah.

Regardless best of luck with the addition/changes

Edit: Thanks Doc Strail for sharing this here:)

I truly don't think hating a trend is whining, but eh whatever.
I took a few days to do something I thought was neat and would add good fun to the game. If people want to make comments like "Tell me about it, how about fucking making the game instead of remaking shit." they can just fuck right off and not play my game if it bugs them that much - there's plenty of other options on this site that might better fit with their expert opinion on how game development ought to be done. :ROFLMAO:

Better to add new things in at the start then to do it when the game is two years down the line. Imagine the amount of work to add a fem MC in if there were 100 chapters vs the current 2. More options are always great to have and game development is always like that, for instance see the whole changes in DA:I from the pre-alpha video leak to what we got.

It's not as if devlopment is being stopped while the fem mc renders are being done.
