I'm replaying the game to check out the new scenes, so I'm curious as to how the mod explains them (i.e., hints).

pretty sure it exlpains things well enough, never had any problems with her mods

Not yet. The mod is being updated to work with v0.10.1. According to an earlier post, it could be out very soon.

Don't we still have to wait for the main game itself to update before this mod starts getting updated? As far as I know it hasn't been updated from 0.10 to 0.10.1 yet.

Runey (Creator of Harem Hotel) also has a Patreon which he/she releases the full versions on, this does have v0.10.1. It also has alpha/beta versions, but to gain access to those you'll need to support him/her financially.
