Never use a mod for a version the game it was not made for, nearly all mods are made for a specific version.
In both scrappy and myself's case, our mods are made for the 0.14.1 version, though I am still in the modding and testing phase of my mod since I am revamping Lain's mod with additional context and cheats.

been waiting forever to replay Harem hotel but i've tried being patient in hopes this mod would be updated for the new current version the games in, has anyone confirmed that its working?

If you have read at least some of the recent posts in the last couple of pages then you would have seen that Lain is still MIA and that scrappy threw together a quick fix update for Lain's mod for 0.14.1 and that I am currently work on revamping Lain's mod for 0.14.1 with extra context and cheats. I have put out a test version of my mod about a page ago and will be releasing a new test mod sometime tomorrow. If you really want to replay the game then wait for my full stable release so you won't miss anything.
Hopefully that answers your question.

I know for the test version you said to start fresh; do you anticipate old saves being able to carry over for the finished version?

Theoretically it should work and you can try but make sure you do use a New Folder to re-extract the original 0.14.2 release into then add my mod into that then try your saves and see. But for the best experience it'd be best to wait until I finish with my full mod and replay the game to ensure you didn't miss anything in the game beforehand.
BTW, I should have my next update ready sometime today.

If you're playing my mod, here's a reason why you may want to wait to continue playing past where I mention how far I have the girls so you don't miss stuff like this that is not in Lain's Walkthrough part of her mod.
I did just included this now because I had forgotten an item in Lain's Exhibition Cafe context.
BTW, the only cheat I have used from Lain was the money cheat and nothing else to ensure that I don't miss any part of the story.

I'm pretty sure this is what caused your error, it's getting late for me so I haven't tested it yet (it did pass the debug test so that's a good sign) but once I get a chance to test it a little bit I'll post what I have done up to date.

Unfortunately.. your mod doesn't work on Android.. I've been trying to play it on Joiplay but it has trouble starting up.
good day, your mod is to be considered ready to use for this version?
or there are still some improvement pending? as i want to give a try and play again from start
if is still not completed i can wait without issue to play again with a final version.

just saying, if androids level is below a certain level, the tentant custom scene shouldnt be avaiable... because withoout knowing the android pretty well, its impossible to call her or even know her stength.

It's mostly ready, the test releases are for just playing around and seeing if I broke anything.
I'm almost done with the mod and should have the final version done sometime this week to release to the public and on the game's actual thread. I will most more on this thread later.

Very likely due to not all of my rpy files are updated into compiled into rpyc files. My last 2 test releases has all the rpy files compiled into rpyc but not all of the rpyc files are updated. On PC's (Windoes/Linux/Mac) Ren'Py will automatically update the rpy files into rpyc then play the game but IIRC Android requires all the rpy files to be precompiled into rpyc to be able to run propperly.
I am testing my mod in debug/console mode with will error out of there are any actual code issues and everything has came back just fine.
rpy = Ren'Py text based source code files
rpyc = Ren'Py compiled rpy files to be used by Python to run/play
