Yup. I feel like there's a chance it could even be longer, depending on how far some folks were in the game when they loaded their saves.
The sheer length of time, and all the whiners, are probably getting to Runey, so he rushed it out to shut em up. Everyone should just remain patient, and wait for at least some substantial updates to content that have been ironed out thoroughly. Take the update for what it actually is, a way to say "yes, I'm fucking working on the game, see?!"
